Five on Friday - August Goals

I had such big plans for August – returning to the gym, returning to hanging out with more family and friends, etc., but since Covid is on the rise drastically here again, sadly, that won’t be happening.  Therefore, my goal load will be a little lighter than it would have been otherwise.

Today I’m recapping my July goals and listing my August goals.  As always, I’m using a Y for YES and N for NO to indicate whether or not I accomplished my goals.

July Goals

Relationships/Connect/Be the Light

Y  Go to lunch with a girlfriend. – Made it to lunch with Adrienne!

Y  Go to lunch with an old coworker. – Went with my old supervisor.

Y  Schedule dinner with girlfriends. – Yep, got it scheduled!

N  Schedule Happy Hour with old coworkers (and hopefully go this month). – Nope, gave this one up on purpose… not interested in getting together with a big group indoors anymore since Covid is exploding again.

Y  Go on a dinner date night with B.

Y  Go on a date night with B to see Dave Matthews Band!!!!

Y  Have a play date with friends.

Y  Have a one-on-one date with Olivia to get pedicures.

                                                                  Personal/Health/Wellness/Fitness/Beauty

N  Meditate, quiet time, and affirmations every day. – Y’all, I was SO SAD when I realized that I forgot to meditate the day after we went to the concert… I was way off of my normal schedule and completely dropped the ball.  That meant that I broke my streak of 344 days.  Waaaahhhh!!!!  I was so disappointed in myself.

Y  Drink 64 oz. most days.

Y  Close all rings on my Apple Watch 28 days. – I closed them all 31 days!  Woot!

Y  Run 5 miles. – Yep, ran 5.06… probably would have been more if I hadn’t injured my toe.

Y  Start attending church in person again!!!!

N  Go to confession. – Right now, they’re doing it outside before mass and it’s just been too dang hot.

Y  Visit with the eye doctor for my annual checkup.

Y  Visit with my allergist for my annual checkup.

Y  Visit with my therapist (hopefully in person).

Y  Read The Road Back to You.

N  Read 3 fiction books. – I only made it through two this month.

Family/Fun

Y  Celebrate 4th of July with family.

Y  Take the kids to the library.

Y  Take the kids to their favorite local arcade.

Y  Bake muffins.

Y  Start swimming in the back yard again since Olivia’s cast will be off!

N  Go to a baseball game.

Y  Celebrate Jacob’s birthday!!!!

Y  Buy everything else that the kids need for the upcoming school year.

Y Sign Jacob up for baseball.

Y  Sign Olivia up for dance.

N  Read another book out loud with both kids.

Y  Finish summer homework.

Y  Record a video every single day of the month and upload to my One Second a Day app.

Home/Organization/Planning

Y  Clean out Jacob’s bedroom.

Y  Clean out Olivia’s bedroom.

Y  Clean out the playroom.

Y  List more summer clothes on Poshmark.

N  Schedule someone to install laundry room countertop.

N  Balance the washing machine.

Y  Develop pictures and change out pictures in frames.

N  Complete 1 thing on Master To-Do list.

Blog/Social Media

Y  Post at least 3 times per week.

N  Update all blog pages with links.

Y  Set up an Instagram routine to start being more consistent. – Yep!  I sat down and came up with a good routine that I’m going implement for my IG stories when the kids go back to school!  Hopefully that’ll keep me on track so I don’t have days where I forget to post.

  3. Missing one day of meditation must be disappointing, but you have done so well otherwise! I am now reading a book that's making me think of you, called Mindfulness On The Go. It's very interesting!

  7. Donating blood is a great one to add to the list; I've been meaning to try to donate blood now that I'm off all my iron supplements... maybe I'll be able to give blood for the first time ever in life! (I've always been rejected due to low iron). Best of luck on your August goals!
