Five on Friday - Friends Ornament, Fall Decor, PSL, and Ted Lasso

Hey hey!  Friday is here, and as always, I’m sharing a few favorite things from the week.  I’m going to go ahead and warn you, if you haven’t yet started to embrace the idea that fall is around the corner, then this post is not going to be for you!  I am in full-on fall mode now, and there are so many wonderful fall things that are bringing me joy this week… oh, and one Christmas one, too.  Haha.

O N E – Friends Ornament

I started putting up a rainbow Christmas tree in my office a couple of years ago, and it is one of my most favorite things!  While I love the way it looks, I also feel like it could use a little more personalization, so I’ve decided that going forward, I’m also going to start gradually adding some new things to the tree!  The different colored balls will remain so the rainbow theme will still be intact, but in addition to those, I’m also going to start hanging other ornaments of my favorite things!  Friends.  Wine.  Dave Matthews Band.  Tea.  Rainbows.  Twinkle Lights.  Craft Beer.  Y’all know!

We’ve collected a ton of ornaments over the years and we’ve reached the point where there isn’t enough space on our main tree to display all of them each year, so I’m going to move some of mine to my office tree and then I plan to add one to it each year going forward.  I already bought myself a new ornament to hang on my tree this year… the famous Friends frame!!

B and I went to visit The Friends Experience in Atlanta back in July, and after our trip, I purchased this ornament from the online merch store since they didn’t have any there in the gift shop (I love this dupe from Etsy, too!).  Friends has been my all-time favorite show for most of my life, and I don’t ever see anything taking that coveted number one spot.  It’s just too good.

But anyway, I’m looking forward to hunting for the perfect ornament to add to my collection each year, and I just think it’ll be so much fun to have a tree filled with all of my favorite things!

T W O – Pulling Out the Fall Decor

Yep, we pulled out the fall décor last weekend and I’ve been mulling over where to put everything ever since.  For the last two years, I’ve decorated things pretty similarly, but this year, I was thinking of changing it up a bit and adding some color back to our mantle.  Only time will tell, I guess, but the process is one of my favorite parts!

I made a little stop at Hobby Lobby earlier this week, and while I didn’t buy anything, there were so many fun things that inspired me!

T H R E E – Pumpkin Spice Latte is BACK, BABY!

Starbucks released the PSL on Tuesday and that’s when you know it’s officially the first unofficial day of fall.  Haha.  It’s one of my most favorite drinks, and you’ll likely find me at a Starbucks first thing this morning indulging in my first one of the season.  So basic and I really just don’t even care.  ;o)

F O U R – Ted Lasso

Brian and I started Ted Lasso a couple of weeks ago, and it is steadily working its way into my Top 10, and maybe eventually Top 5 of favorite shows of all-time.  It is so well-written, it’s laugh-out-loud funny, the music in it is fantastic, and it is so heartwarming.  Y’all, I’ve teared up at nearly every episode in the second season.

Clearly, whoever writes for the show loves the 90’s and early 2000’s as much as I do, and I think that’s part of why it resonates with me so much.  B and I are finally caught up, and that Love Actually episode that they did a couple of weeks ago was pretty much the best thing ever!  Then, just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, they also spoofed 90’s romcoms in last week’s episode.  Needless to say, I definitely catch and very much appreciate all of those subtle (and not-so-subtle) nods to my favorite decade.

A new episode comes out today so I’m sure B and I will be all over it this evening.  If you’re looking for something uplifting, light, and funny, I highly recommend it.

F I V E – Simplified Planner

I know, I’ve already talked about this once this week, but I am just giddy about my new planner.  I already have several appointments and meetings scheduled for 2022 and I am so excited about getting this baby all set up!  There’s nothing like opening a fresh new planner and getting organized for the upcoming year!

  2. I always think Sept. 1 should be the start of fall, but Starbucks knows best! I tried the new Apple Crisp drink. It was good but I'm not sure it was mixed right or if it's supposed to be different on the top and bottom! I'm going to have to check out Ted Lasso since everyone seems to love it. Of course everyone loved Schitt's Creek and I couldn't get into it!

  6. I LOVED Ted Lasso, and need to watch season 2. We don't have Apple tv anymore, but might have to get one month to watch it! I can't wait to see your fall decor - I'm feeling unmotivated about decorating this year! Hope you have a good weekend.
