Five on Friday - Loreal Lash Paradise, Rothy’s, Target Black Friday Deals, and More

Well, after 2.5 years of avoiding it, I finally got the Covid funk earlier this week.  I’ve had pretty much all the symptoms – sore throat, rapid and shallow breathing, elevated heart rate, exhaustion, low-grade fever, body aches, and a bit of a cough.  It hasn’t been fun, but it honestly hasn’t been as bad as it could have been, either.  As long as I keep Ibuprofen in my body, I honestly don’t feel too bad.

I decide to go to acute care on day one because my breathing was a little scary and it was also preventing me from sleeping, and they did put me on Paxlovid, the Covid medicine.  Since the Paxlovid has been in my system, I haven’t had anymore breathing issues, and as long as I’m not having those, I can pretty much handle everything else.

Anyhoo, I don’t have the most energy this week, so while I am doing some work here and there, I haven’t been doing much, so I’m going to keep this post short and sweet today.

O N E – Loreal Lash Paradise

I made the switch to Loreal Lash Paradise mascara a few months ago, and y’all, it is INCREDIBLE.  I’ve been meaning to share it with y’all forever but just haven’t gotten around to it.  It thickens and lengthens my lashes like no other mascara ever has, and the best part is that it keeps my lashes curled.  Previously, I was using a different brand of mascara, and after I would curl my lashes and then put on the mascara, it seemed to make my lashes heavy and drag them down.  This mascara seems to help mine curl even more and my real eyelashes look fake because they’re soooo long and thick.  Seriously insane, y’all.  I wanted to share pictures of my lashes before and after, but since I’m down with Covid right now I’m not wearing makeup.  I’ll have to remember to share some other time.

T W O – New Rothy’s

Thanks to all of you wonderful readers, I had enough Rothy’s credits to (almost) fully cover the price for a new pair, so I finally ordered these bright red ones that have been on my wish list forever.  I wear a LOT of red and black this time of year, and I’ve been dying for a red pair for a couple of years now, and I cannot wait to receive them.  Rothy’s are the absolute greatest of all time when it comes to flats, and I can’t recommend them enough.  You can see my full review here and all of the reasons I love them, and as always, if you use my link here to buy your first pair, you will get $20 off, and I’ll also get $20 to use towards a new pair for myself.  When you buy your first pair, you’ll also get a custom link that you can share with your friends and family, so you can get $20 every time one of your links is used, too!

T H R E E – Target Black Friday Deals

The holidays are right around the corner, so Target has jumped on the Black Friday train early!  Yep, they’re already running Black Friday deals on their website, and they’ll be running from now until Thanksgiving.  They are also offering a holiday price match guarantee – if any items you purchase at Target between October 6 and December 24 drop in price after your purchase, they’ll match the price for you.  I’ll be shopping the sale for Christmas gifts, and I’ll probably be sharing some deals in my Instagram stories if you’re interested.  Shop the deals here!

F O U R – Kids School Pictures

The kids’ school pictures are in and they’re so cute!  Just thought I’d drop them here so I can have them on the blog forever.  Love these babies.  :o)

F I V E – Ibuprofen

You wanna know what my very most favorite thing is from this week, though?

Ibuprofen.

Yep, it's a miracle worker.  It has been the one thing keeping me comfortable this week while I’m down with Covid and I’d be in baaaad shape without it.  I’ve been taking it around the clock, and it has kept me functional.  I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck every time it wears off, so I’m very grateful to have a big ol’ bottle to get me through until my pain subsides.

  1. So sorry to hear you are battling Covid this week but relieved to know that your symptoms have been manageable with ibuprofen. We've been relying a lot on that this week too as Alec is still battling a fever and severe sore throat (I'm really hoping the strep culture comes back positive today and they put him on an antibiotic).

  4. Our neighbor has Covid so he is quarantining in the basement and his wife and kids are upstairs and they are supposed to leave on a big trip tomorrow. I’m so sorry you’re feeling bad sweetie. I love the kids school pictures and always your funnies.

  5. I'm so sorry you've been sick! You're right - ibuprofen is really a miracle worker. Once I had a really bad earache and was taking Tylenol. I decided to take ibuprofen instead and could instantly feel the pain relief. I also love that Loreal mascara, although I rotate around to different brands sometime. It's the only one Grace wears though. Hope you feel better soon!

  7. The one time I ordered Rothy's was the one and only time I had packages stolen from my porch! So I have yet to try them.
