Five on Friday - Girls Plush Robe, a Fun Halloween Treat, Bag Hooks for Your Vehicle, and More

Happy Friday, y’all!  I’m soooo excited because the kids are on fall break today!!  They got out at noon yesterday and they don’t have to go back until Tuesday, and we are all thrilled for some time off.  This will be the first fall break in years (probably more than a decade) that we decided not to travel, and I cannot tell you how excited I am for some time at home.  We plan to do some fun and festive fall things, watch a ton of college football, and just relaxxxx, and I couldn’t be happier!

But first, some favorites!

O N E – Girls Robe

Olivia loves a robe, and she is in desperate need of a new one for cozy season as she’s still wearing the Baby Yoda one that she bought years ago with her own money.  It’s now more like a short, fitted jacket because it’s so tiny (yet she still wants to wear it), so when I saw this one, I couldn’t grab it fast enough!  It’s so soft and plush, the price is just right, and I know she’s going to flip when she sees the colors!  They’re giving Christmas, but not too Christmas, so she will be able to wear it all year!

T W O – Halloween Gummy Assortment

I saw an influencer share these in a post the other day, and I immediately added them to my cart for our Halloween dinner that we do every year.  The eyeballs, the teeth, the brains… it’s also so wonderfully gross that they’ll be the perfect addition to our table.  The kids love anything gummy, so they’re going to go crazy over these!

T H R E E – Kraft Mac & Cheese Cups

Thursday evenings are hectic in our house.  I pick the kids up from school, we go straight to music lessons, and then Olivia only has a very tiny window to eat an early dinner, do homework, and get ready for dance before we must leave again… and then she doesn’t get home until 8:30 PM.

She usually loves for me to bake these chicken fingers for her on dance nights (and I love them because they’re actually healthy plus they’re an excellent source of protein), but unfortunately, it takes so long to preheat the oven and bake them, that she barely has time to eat before we have to run out the door.

That said, we’ve been discussing other things for her to eat in lieu of chicken fingers on Thursdays, and she was THRILLED when I suggested these Kraft Mac & Cheese cups.  Are they healthy?  No.  But sometimes fed is best, y’all!  They’re completely done in 3.5 minutes flat, she LOVES them (mac and cheese is her favorite food besides biscuits), and when she pairs them with yogurt and fruit, it makes the meal a little less bad.  I do miss the days where she’d eat an Uncrustable and call it a day, but unfortunately, she got pretty burned out on them after eating them daily for lunch for many years.

F O U R – Bag Hooks for the Car

Now that the kids are sitting up front in the passenger seat a lot more, I have no place to put my purse.  I don’t like putting it on the floorboard in the back because I can’t reach it, so I purchased these bag hooks in the Amazon Prime sale this week.  They’re leather wrapped around metal so they’re sturdy and they’re easy peasy to install.  I hung mine on the back of the passenger seat, and now I’m able to hang my bag there for easy access when the kids are in the front seat!  They also come in various colors to match any interior.

F I V E – New Daily To Do Lists on Instagram

Y’all asked, so I brought them back!  For years, I posted daily to do lists in my Instagram stories, but I stopped for about a year because I felt like they’d gotten redundant and well, a little stale.  So many of you were sad when I stopped posting them, so I recently decided to change the format and start posting them again.  I’m now popping them onto a pretty background, I’m adding some fun tasks to the lists in addition to the mundane tasks, and I’m putting music behind them.

The outpouring of love from y’all after I posted my first one was so huge that I decided to go ahead and start posting them every day again even though I had zero intention of posting them daily.  Haha.  I didn’t realize how many of you truly missed them until I brought them back!  So, thanks for all the love!  And if you love seeing what I’m up to every day, be sure to follow me over there, because I haven't decided yet whether or not to post them here on the blog.  I may leave them exclusive to Instagram.  We'll see!

  2. We just got rid of the hooks I had in the car because I wasn't using them, but that's a smart idea for a place to put your bag!
