Quarantine Confessions {4.27.2020}

The last round of confessions I did was last August, and we were all blissfully unaware of what was to come in just a few short months.  Today I’m sharing a new round of confessions since it’s been so long, and these are all from the quarantine era…

I confess…

… that out of the 45-ish days we’ve been quarantining, I probably didn’t brush Olivia’s hair about 20 of those days.  We finally have a routine, and I’m now brushing it almost every day.

… that during the first week of quarantine, I ate an entire box of Thin Mints all by myself.  Self-control went out the window during quarantine, apparently.

… that my roots are officially 2-3 inches long in some spots.  You know how I know?  I actually measured just for the sake of this post.  By the time we come out of quarantine, I’ll officially be a brunette again.

… that I’m SO SICK of cooking!

… that I have to do clothing checks before all Zoom meetings because our kids mostly just run around in underwear now.  I do make them both get dressed every morning for school, but once their Zoom meetings are over all bets are off.

… that for the first couple of weeks of quarantine, I’m pretty sure our kids didn’t brush their teeth in the morning.  We were all struggling (and failing) to find a routine and everything was just crazy.  I’m happy to say that they’re back on track with it now.  Most mornings.  I think.

… that I’m definitely reaching for the wine bottle more on weeknights than I used to.  We typically save the drinking for Friday – Sunday evenings, but we have definitely been popping the tops on random weeknights during quarantine.  I mean, why not?  It’s not like we have anywhere to drive.

… that I’m SO SICK OF COOKING!!

… that until about two weeks ago I didn’t even have the urge to organize.  Or work on projects.  Or get stuff done.  I was pretty much just living day-to-day for the first few weeks and not working on any projects or stuff that usually makes me happy.  I think my project mojo is back now, though (much to B’s dismay), so never fear.  I pressure-washed our driveway a couple of weeks ago and I just started revamping our laundry room and now I want to DO ALL THE THINGS!

… that I’ve been eating way more junk for lunch than I used to.  During “normal times” I typically eat very healthy lunches every day – avocado toast, salads, green smoothies, Greek yogurt with fruit, lean proteins and vegetables – but now that everyone’s home?  Grilled cheese sandwiches?  Yes please!  Mini pizzas?  Don’t mind if I do!  Chick-Fil-A?  You don’t have to twist my arm!

… that I’ve made breakfast for dinner more times than I can count.  #NoShame

… that I’m SO SICK OF COOKING!!!!

… that my creativity for the blog has been sapped ever since we started quarantining.  The only creativity I have been able to muster these last six weeks is for my essential oils Instagram account.  Styling pretty pictures is the only thing I really feel like doing (and have time for) creatively right now.

… that I had a totally different post planned for tomorrow, but it was going to take too much time that I now don’t have (because – homeschool) so I scrapped it and here we are with this one.

… that I really miss going places, but I’m also worried that once we are finally allowed to go places again, that I might not want to because I’ll be conditioned to stay at home.  We’re all going to be shell-shocked when we finally get back to reality!

… have I mentioned that I’m so sick of cooking?!

Happy Monday, y’all!

Confessions {10.10.2019}

It’s been a couple of months since my last confessions post, so I feel a few coming on today!!

I confess…

… that as much as I love This is Us, I think A Million Little Things is better.  That’s right, I said it.  A couple of years ago I would have never imagined that another network show could come along and be better than This is Us, but it’s definitely happened.  There are plenty of past shows that I like better than This is Us (hello, Friends and Parenthood!) and there are also plenty of shows on streaming services that are better than This is Us (hello, Handmaid’s Tale!), but I never imagined that anything new on network TV could beat it.  Alas, it did, and I’m just reveling in the glory of actually having multiple good TV shows to look forward to each week that are not reality TV.  #CheatingOnShowsWithOtherShows

… that I’ve already had to use Google twice to figure out how to help Jacob with his math homework.  Sigh.  They are teaching him traditional methods of solving problems, but they’re also throwing in a little bit of that new math junk and it’s just crazy.  I mean, I can solve a problem the original way about 25 times faster than doing that new crap.  I’ve always sucked at math and now that they’re teaching it differently it’s even more impossible.  #NewMathSucks

… that I realized the other day that we’ve lived in our house for almost ten years and we’ve only ever cleaned the inside of our microwave once or twice.  It’s so gross in there right now it’s beyond embarrassing, but cleaning it is just something I never think about doing until I’m using it.  And then when I’m using it I can’t clean it, so then I forget about it and it still doesn’t get cleaned.  It’s a vicious cycle.  #IMightBeTidyAndOrganizedButApparentlyImNotAlwaysClean

… that my Amazon wish list is so long I finally had to split it into several different categories – Clothes, Books, Kids, and Other.  After splitting it up, all of my lists are still a mile long.  Anybody have Santa’s email address so I could possibly send him some links?  #AskingForAFriend

… that I tried the new Starbucks pumpkin spice latte creamer and it is NOT GOOD.  It doesn’t even taste like pumpkin spice!  Like, at all!!!!  As a matter of fact, it’s so bad that I’m thinking of contacting them about it.  I mean, I bought a giant bottle of it and paid all that money for it and I’m never going to use it again.  And don’t get me started about the fact that they don’t have smaller bottles of it… the only ones they have are gargantuan and they cost an arm and a leg.  Time to start a Starbucks boycott!  #JKNotReally

Happy Thursday, y’all!

Confessions {8.22.2019}

I used to do these posts at least once a month, but for whatever reason, I never think to do them anymore.  I think it’s been a good 6-7 months since my last confessions post, so it’s a bit overdue!  Straight from my mind this week…

I confess…

… that I’m a little jealous of my kids’ school experience.  As most of you know, they are attending my alma mater, and friends, they have made so many changes for the better in the years since I left!  I mean, it was a great school when I was there, but nowadays the kids get to do all kinds of special stuff that we didn’t have when I was there.  They have so many fun events and parties that we didn’t have, they get to be out of uniform and wear jeans and school t-shirts every Friday, the cafeteria food is worlds better (so many choices!), and best of all… Jacob’s class has flex seating this year!  This means that the kids can sit anywhere they want to in class – regular desks, stand-up desks, floor cushions, and various other places.  The theory is that kids do their best work when they’re comfortable (AMEN), so they are now allowed to work where they’re most comfortable.  I currently use a stand-up work station at home and I would have loved that option when I was in school… nobody likes to sit all day!  I’m just loving how progressive they are these days.  #JustCallThemGoogle

… that this ringing in my ears is going to be the death of me.  I’m coming up on 10 months of solid ringing in my ears – 24 hours a day, seven days a week – it never ever stops.  Some days I don’t even notice it anymore since it’s always there, but a lot of the time it drives me absolutely nuts.  I’ve gotten to where I cannot stand silence because, obviously, the ringing becomes more prominent then.  Therefore, I need some kind of background noise to drown it out at all times.  I’ve seen doctor after doctor and the only thing we can come up with is that it’s somehow related to my allergies and reflux issues.  If anybody has ever experienced ringing in the ears and figured out a way to resolve it, I beg of you, please share with me what you did!!  #ImGonnaGoInsane

… that I recently started meditating to try to help manage my anxiety from said ringing, reflux, and allergies.  Between the ringing and allergies/reflux issues, I feel like my anxiety is at an all-time high, so I’ve turned to meditation to see if it will help.  Well y’all, I suck at it.  My mind just will not rest.  During meditation you’re supposed to empty your mind and focus on nothing but your breathing.  Well, my mind can do that for approximately five seconds before I realize it has wandered off somewhere that it shouldn’t be… most of the time to the ringing in my ears.  Everything I’ve read says daily practice will hone your skills, so we’ll see.  If you have any tips for meditating successfully, holla at your girl!  #StuckInMyOwnHead

… that my hair has started shedding a ton and it’s falling out as much as it does after I have a baby.  That postpartum hair loss is no joke.  However, I didn’t just have a baby nor am I nursing one, so whyyyy is this happening?  Stress from all of my health woes?  Has this ever happened to anyone else before?  Anybody have any suggestions on how to make it stop??

… that I went three whole months without getting my hair highlighted and it was looking rough when I finally went Tuesday morning.  On a positive note my roots were so long that I could see lots of my original color and I don’t have any grey hairs!  Although, I think I’d rather have lots of grey hairs than no hair at all.  #PleaseStopFallingOut

Happy Thursday, y’all!

Confessions {4.17.2019}

It’s time for another round of confessions!  Here we go!

I confess…

… that I let things ruin my mood too much.  I’m so easily affected by the vibe around me that I let negativity from others rub off on me.  I need to remember to just focus on me no matter what’s going on around me!

… that I completely failed at my Lenten promise this year.  I said I was going to give up negativity and worry, but then we were bombarded by all kinds of crap – massive tornadoes hitting our area, my whole heart attack ordeal, horrible allergy and asthma issues that left me unable to function some days, and a couple of other things that I haven’t shared.  I feel like I was truly put to the test for making that promise, and instead of rising to the challenge, I failed miserably.  That said, I’m a constant work in progress so all I can do is continue to work on my reactions to the negative things that happen in life.  Here’s to focusing on the positives in every situation!  I think I can, I think I can.

… that next year for Lent, I should probably just stick to giving up sweets or something like that instead.  That was hard when I did it the year before last, but at least I was able to stick to it!  I guess I set myself up for failure with my promise this year.

… that I may or may not have cried a little when I saw all of the coverage of Notre Dame Cathedral burning on Monday.  It is one of the top places on my bucket list to visit and I’m so incredibly sad that I never got to go.  I’m so thankful that they were able to save all of the relics and artwork, and that they think they can rebuild, though.  Did you know that The Crown of Thorns that was placed on the head of Jesus is kept there?  Thank goodness they were able to save it!!  It would have been an absolute tragedy if it had been destroyed.

… that I cringed a little when we found out that the kids’ summer break this year is one whole week longer than last year.  I’m excited to have an extra week without the hustle, but I also think we’ll all be on each other’s nerves by then.  By the end of last summer, our kids were both bonkers, so an extra week off could be rough.  They thrive on structure, and summertime definitely lacks that now that I’m not working.  I guess I’ll just be in GET THESE KIDS OUT OF MY HOUSE mode for an extra week.  Lol.

… and speaking of getting on each other’s nerves, our kids have surely been getting on mine lately!  I’m pretty sure they have spring fever or end-of-the-school-year fever because they have both been OFF THE CHAIN lately.  I feel like I’ve constantly had the song y’all gon’ make me lose my mind, up in here, up in here stuck in my head these last few weeks.  Anyone else?!

… that I always wait until the last possible second to get in the car line to pick the kids up every day.  I can’t stand waiting, so I’m not one to get there early and just sit until they’re dismissed.  Instead, I arrive about five minutes after they’ve dismissed so that way the car line is already moving.  This means I’m usually in the last ten cars each day, and some days I’m even rolling in on two wheels just to make it in time.  That said, our school is small, so the car line is quick once it starts moving.  The kids are always in my car within 10-12 minutes of dismissal so it’s not like they have to wait a long time or anything.  #ImNotThatCruel

Alright y’all, that’s enough for today!

Happy Thursday!

Confessions {1.31.2019}

It has been months since I had a good ol’ confession sesh here on the blog, so I thought this might be a fun way to close out the first month of the new year!  Here we go!

I confess…

… that Olivia still mispronounces certain words and uses the wrong words when she is speaking in past tense and I never correct her because it’s so adorable... I secretly never want her to stop.  For example, she says “goed” instead of “went.”  “Hey Mommy, I goed to school today!”  I mean, is that not the stinking cutest thing ever?!  I know she has to learn one day, but for now I'm just going to keep enjoying the cuteness.  #BadMommy

… that I used to spend so much time planning that I never actually had the time to get the things done that I was planning.  I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago in this post, and I’m happy to report that now that I’m using my new method of planning, I have become a million times more productive because I have way more time to get things done.  #FeelsSoGood

… that now that I have repainted my home office, it’s making me want to redecorate all the things!  Unfortunately I have champagne taste and a beer budget, so if some brands aren’t willing to collaborate with me then it’ll take years to afford all of the stuff I want.  #BrandsPleasePullThrough

… that B granted my wish for white kitchen cabinets and I’m about to pee my pants with excitement waiting for that week to get here!  The company we’re using is super popular so you have to book them months in advance.  Our week is getting closer and closer by the minute and I cannot wait to see the transformation.  #ComeOnFirstWeekOfFebruary

… that, of course, since we’re repainting the cabinets it’s also making me want to add a new backsplash, add some new lighting under the countertops, get some barstools, and repaint the entire first level of our house.  #KeepDreaming #AddMoreItemsToTheMasterToDoList

… that I am a BOSS at painting, but the thought of painting that massive space does not sound like a good time.  If any professional local painters read this blog and you want to collaborate let me know!  Haha.  #WishfulThinking

… that I am still sore from painting my office a whole week ago.  Yep, I had muscle aches in places I didn’t even know I had muscles and my entire body pretty much felt like Jello after all that work.  #ApparentlyImNoLongerASpringChicken

… that I was so crushed that we didn’t get any snow on Tuesday, but I was secretly thankful that they didn’t have to close school for ice.  I mean, I love a good snow day at home with the kids, but who wants to stay home just for ice?!  If the kids are staying home unexpectedly it better be for the fluffy white stuff.  #MommaHasStuffToDo

Happy Thursday, y’all!

Confessions {8.9.2018}

It’s been a loooong time since I did a confessions post.  So long that I haven’t even done one in 2018.  I can’t even believe that!  Are y’all ready for a whole mess of random thoughts?  Here they are!

I confess…

… that this first week with the kids back in school has kicked. my. butt.  And it’s only Thursday.  I got so used to waking up around 7 AM all summer that it has been positively awful dragging myself out of bed at 6 AM.  #IsItBedtimeYet

… that this first week with the kids back in school has also kicked their butts.  They were wonderful Monday evening, but after the novelty of the first day wore off they’ve been whiny, exhausted messes every evening since.  #CanYouBlameThem

… that this Friday evening, instead of staying in to let the kids recover after their long week, B and I are leaving them with my parents so we can go to a concert in Atlanta.  Sorry kids, I know you’re exhausted from your first week back at school, but Mommy needs to go see Taylor Swift!  #Priorities  ;o)

… that I snooze for 45 minutes every single morning.  If I have to be out of the bed at 6 AM, I set my alarm for 5:15 AM so I can snooze five times before getting up.  I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember.  #NoSnoozeyNoWakey

… that I wish I was a morning person.  I’ve only said this a thousand times here on the blog.  #YallKnow

… that I’m soooo thankful that Olivia is now in uniforms.  No more struggle in the morning on what she’s going to wear!  Yet.  I’m sure she’ll eventually come up with something.  #SheAlwaysDoes

… that even after three whole days at home without the kids, I still feel like I’m drowning in “Things to Do.”  Most of my things that need to be done are important, but a lot of them are also projects and things that I WANT to do, rather than NEED to do.  But sometimes those are just as important to me as the things that I HAVE to do.  I mean, we all NEED an organized command center in our kitchens, don’t we?!  #YesWeDo

… that giving up on growing my Instagram has been the best thing that I’ve done this past year.  Last year I spent several months studying and analyzing the ‘Gram and trying to grow my following naturally, and it was very successful.  It was also exhausting.  However, Instagram made some changes mid last year that has made it very difficult to grow naturally ever since.  A lot of people resorted to buying followers, doing tons of hidden loop giveaways, following and unfollowing people, as well as many other questionable methods, but I refused to participate in anything like that.  Instead of joining everyone, I started putting all of my effort into my Instagram content (especially my stories), and I also continued channeling my creativity into producing quality blog content (because Confessions posts are quality content.  LOL).  Well, I’m happy to report, the followers are rolling in (albeit slowly – but steadily) and I didn’t have to compromise my authenticity to do it.  #StopTryingSoHardAndTheyWillCome

… that I’m addicted to watching other people’s Instagram Stories.  Some evenings before bed I will lay there and watch people’s stories for 20-30 minutes straight!  #TheNewReadingBeforeBed

… that I’m still in awe over my blog post that is viral on Pinterest.  The pageviews per day continue to increase and it’s rolling along so quickly now that I think it’s going to actually surpass Olivia’s Pink and Gold First Birthday post!  That birthday post has been out for over three years, but I think that this new viral post is going to pass it in overall pageviews within the next few months.  #Baffled

… that my summer tan is starting to fade and it’s making me feel like I look unhealthy.  Why do I always feel healthier with a tan?!  #IMissTheTanningBed

… that I am so ready for fall I could just burst.  I seriously considered going ahead and putting up the fall décor, but I’m staying strong and holding off until September 1.  #Maybe

… that I have already started Christmas shopping.  #FALALALALALALALALA

Happy Thursday!

Confessions {3.22.2018}

Remember when I used to do weekly Thursday confessions?  Yeah, me neither because it’s been so long!  Ha!  I always have fun with these posts and I have been missing them, so here’s a good ol’ fashioned confessions post for you on this Thursday.

I confess…

… that I have been loving everything about being a stay at home mom these last few months, but it is really lonely sometimes.  I’ve always been the type of person who loves solitude and I really enjoy my own company (that doesn’t sound conceited at all – haha!), but goodness gracious after months on end it gets lonely.  I definitely miss the daily interaction and camaraderie with my old work peeps.  I think I might start talking to myself before long!  Haha.

… that since I haven’t been getting that daily adult interaction, I have been feeling one of two ways by the evening.  A) I say all. the. things. to B as soon as he walks in the door… I literally fill him in on every single detail of my day and talk his ear off for the rest of the night.  Or B) I’ve been quiet for so long that I become conditioned and I barely talk all evening.

… that I have talked on the actual phone more during these last few months than I have in the last ten years probably.  Lol.  I have pretty much always been a texter since texting became popular, but since I’ve been alone during the day I’ve been talking on the phone more often and when somebody calls me I end up talking forever.  Adrienne and I talked for almost an hour the other day… I can’t even tell you the last time I talked to somebody on the phone for an hour!  It’s probably been years!

… that our kids get out for the summer in just two months and I’m not remotely where I wanted to be in my cleaning out and simplifying process yet.  My goal was to have the entire house done by the time they got out for summer, but it’s taking so much longer than I expected so I’m thinking it may not quite be done by then.

… that I’m a little nervous about being home with both kids 24/7 for almost three months straight.  Yes, I realize that sounds really weird since they are my kids and all, but remember, I’ve always worked full-time, so aside from maternity leave, I’ve never spent a huge chunk of time with them without a break.  And most of my large chucks of time off with them have been for vacation so B is always with us.  My first real taste of what summer will be like was Christmas break when I was with them for almost three weeks.  It was definitely great, but I’ll admit it was nice to have a break when they went back to school.  Patience is not my strong suit and they are both at very lively ages (to put it nicely – LOL), so this summer could be interesting.  That said, I’m also really thrilled to be home with them for so long, too.  It is going to be so much fun being able to have a traditional summer!

… that the hardest thing about not working has been not being able to buy stuff that I want when I want it, and also feeling guilty when I do spend money.  I’ve made my own money since I was 12 when I started washing cars, cleaning our neighbors’ houses, and baby-sitting and then I got a “real job” as soon as I turned 16.  It’s really unsettling knowing that I’m not bringing anything to the table financially and I’m having a really hard time getting past it.  I've been holding out for so long there is a ton of stuff that I want... good thing my birthday is coming up!

Whew, it feels so good to get all of my thoughts out!  I think I need to bring these posts back at least monthly!

Happy, happy Friday Eve!

Confessions {8.17.2017}

I haven’t participated in Thursday confessions in quite some time so here’s a fresh batch for you.

I confess…

… that 2017 has not been my favorite.  I know things could be and are so much worse for others, so I try to be grateful – and I am so grateful – for this life that I have, but so many little things have piled up this year that it’s kind of starting to make feel defeated.  Numerous sicknesses for me, many failed attempts to cure my chronic pain, lots of tornadoes and weird severe weather, trying and failing to figure out how to quit my job and stay home with the kids, having two grandmothers hospitalized in the last couple of weeks, my parents’ dog being very sick these last few weeks, the current state of our nation… I mean, I’m not one to rush time at all, but goodness gracious, I’m about ready for 2018.  Eventually enough is enough, ya know?

… that I had a feeling that 2017 was going to be not-so-great before it even started simply because it ends in the number 17.  Several of the worst days of my whole life occurred on the 17th of the month, so I’m really not a fan of that number.

… that B and I have spent all of this time and money trying these new treatments for my back/hip/leg pain with this doctor in Atlanta, and after all of that, it’s not even working.  It’s frustrating and nauseating knowing how much money we have wasted these last few months.  Not to mention it’s frustrating and nauseating knowing that I might be stuck with this pain for the rest of my life.  I have my last treatment tomorrow, so I’m basically praying for a miracle at this point.  And I’m sure that this is one of the top two culprits for causing my 2017 to be so trying.

… that lately I have been feeling restless and slightly discouraged with this whole blogging thing.  Some days I feel like I’m on the cusp of something amazing, and others, well… I have felt completely frustrated.  I enjoy every single second of it, but I feel like I really want it to be something more and that I just can’t quite get it there.  Does that make sense?

… that I feel the constant need to create (writing, taking and editing pictures, painting, house decorating, clothes styling, organizing, etc.) and that I really wish there was some way to channel all of my creativity into something that could help me earn enough money to stop working at my corporate job.  I feel like life with two small kiddos is slipping right through my fingers because I’m wasting all of my time at an office.  While B and I could probably survive on his salary alone, we would also have to give up some of the frivolous things that we’ve grown accustomed to, and that would definitely be hard.  The hardest thing, though, is that I would feel so guilty spending a penny if I wasn’t bringing something in.  Stay at home moms… how do you do it financially?  And if anyone has great ideas how to make money from home, do tell!

… that I get 15 days of vacation every year at work and I have already used every. single. one.  And our new vacation doesn’t even start over until April 1, 2018.  I know.  We still have fall break and Thanksgiving break and Christmas break and spring break and Easter break and all of the other days in between that the school is closed and I don’t have a single vacation day left to take for the next seven months.  Working moms, who the heck watches your kids for the 18 million days that they have off and/or are sick during the year??  We have been utilizing the services of our two retired dads so much that I’ve gotten to the point where I feel plain awful every time we have to ask them to watch one of the kids.

Well, sorry for this bummer of a post, but I always try to be honest in this little space of mine and this is just what came out when I started writing.  Overall I am truly happy the majority of the time and I know that I have been blessed above and beyond.  I know that this is just a trying season and things will be on the up and up eventually, but I am a worrier by nature, so the whole “taking it in stride” thing during my season of waiting is challenging for me.

I do promise to have a much happier post up tomorrow!

Thank you for listening to me vent.  Sometimes you just have to do it.

Confessions {7.20.2017}

*This post may contain affiliate links.

Happy Thursday!  I haven’t participated in the confessions link-up in a couple of months so it’s time to unload!

I confess…

… that every single time I type the word “because” I always transpose the “a” and the “u.”  Literally every. single. time.  And I cannot train my brain/fingers to do it right no matter how hard I try.  I’ve gotten to where if I’m typing something unimportant (pretty much everything besides work emails and blog posts) then I don’t even bother to correct it.  So if you’ve seen my backwards letters in your blog comments, you now know why.  #Lazy

… that a couple of weeks ago I had to take a picture of myself holding something for an Instagram photo, and I totally only painted my two fingernails that were going to show in the picture because I didn’t feel like painting the rest of them.  #LazyAgain  #ImSensingATrendHere

... that these last few weeks I have been on a break from growing my Instagram and it's been soooo nice.  Growing it was a lot of work that was consuming too much time (that I don't have much of), so I figured that since I already exceeded my goal of 5K by almost 25% that it was acceptable to stop.  #Whew  If you want to see my exact strategy for growing my following, every single detail is here.

… that I just bought some patriotic paper plates that were on clearance and I’m totally stressing out over where to store them.  Do I store them with the paper plates?  Do I store them with the patriotic decorations?  I mean, it could go either way!  If I store them with the paper plates then I might forget that I even have them when the holidays roll around, but if I store them with the holiday decorations I won’t be able to use them on a whim if the occasion arises.  #ThingsThatKeepMeUpAtNight  #OCDToTheMax

… that I have quite literally had a bowl of frozen yogurt every single night for the last few months and I don’t see myself stopping any time soon.  I want to rid myself of my late night snacking, but I just can’t bring myself to do it.  #IllKeepTheExtraFivePoundsThanks

… that I don’t like Saturday mornings.  Everybody always seems to be a little bit irritable (maybe it’s just me?) and it also means that I have to do aaaallll the laundry.  I love Friday evenings, Saturday afternoons and evenings, and all of Sunday, but I just don’t like Saturday morning.  What’s up with that??  And actually, let’s make that I don’t like Saturday mornings in the spring, summer, or winter.  I LOVE them in the fall because that means – #ESPNCollegeGameDay

… that I’m totally 100% longing for fall already.  Once 4th of July is over, it might as well be fall in my book.  Yes, I’m aware that summer technically just started, and yes I’m aware that it’s 95 degrees (at least) outside.  But let's face it, summertime lost its charm long ago once I started clocking it in for corporate America.  I am just so ready for pumpkins and football and beautiful leaves and scarves and being able to enjoy hot coffee again.  #BasicForLife  #NoShame

… that I’m totally thinking after yesterday's post that we do not wash our towels enough.  And I’m also thinking that a lot of my readers don’t either because hardly anybody answered that question.  Haha.

… that the Nordstrom sale is finally open to the public tomorrow and the majority of the stuff that I had my eye on is sold out.  Waaaahhhh.  I was dying to buy this top and they are all gone in my size in the color I wanted.  :o(  I also wanted this top and it’s no longer available in my size and color of choice either.  I think I am going to buy these leggings and this top, though… if they’re still available, that is!  #FashionBloggersAreBuyingUpAllTheGoodStuff

... that I just got accepted into the rewardStyle program and I'm so excited!!!!  I love fashion so much and it is an honor to be a part of such an influential program.  I have always said that if I was ever going to narrow my blogging niche to something other than a family scrapbook I would choose fashion, hands down.  I have loved it since I was old enough to walk and talk, and after years and years of wearing school uniforms I think I love it even more now.  :o)  I do, however, always feel awkward when posing for pictures alone, so I'm not sure that I'm cut out to do that full time.  Haha.  So don't worry, Lindsay's Sweet World will always be a place to come for lots of random different things... I might, however, have some fun new stuff in the works for the new year, though!  ;o)

Happy, happy Friday Eve!
