What I Ordered from Amazon in August 2026

*This post contains affiliate links.  As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Hey, y’all!  I’m popping in today to share my Amazon purchases from August.  These posts are always some of my most-viewed each month, and they don’t take me as long to put together as some of my other posts, so these are always a win-win!

In August, we had another heavy month for Amazon shopping because we got our sweet Belle and we had to get her set up with all the items that she needed.  We saved many of Maui’s old things that Belle is using, but there were plenty of things she needed, too.  Let’s get started!

Bamboo Apothecary Jars

I bought these apothecary jars for our guest bathroom, and they are the perfect sizes to hold cotton swabs and flossers.  I’ve been wanting to have little items like that on hand in case anyone ever needs them when they’re visiting, so I was happy to check this off the list!  I needed something lightweight because the floating shelves in our bathroom can’t hold much weight, so I opted for these.  They’re plastic so they’re extremely lightweight, but you’d never know it because they look really nice… especially with the bamboo lids!  I love that the lids can be removed one handed… I didn’t want lids that had to be unscrewed or unsealed to open.  And they came with labels (cotton balls, cotton swabs, cotton pads, floss picks, hair ties, bath salts, and six blank ones)!  I’m not using them yet, but I did save them in case I change my mind down the road.  I really thought that was such a special touch, though.

Bamboo Tray

I wanted a matching tray to give the jars a little home, so I grabbed this one.  It’s made of bamboo that looks identical to the bamboo lids on the jars and it’s the perfect size… so perfect you would never know that it didn’t come with them!  It’s such a simple little set, but I am obsessed.  And it’s such a great way to store items that guests can find useful when they visit.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in the bathroom at someone’s house and wished I had a flosser, especially when I had my braces.

Floss Picks

And speaking of flossers, this was one of the things I put in the jars, but I wanted some that matched the aesthetic in the bathroom.  The ones we already had on hand were these, and the mint green color just wasn’t the vibe, so I grabbed these, and they look great.  They’re just as good as the ones we had before, and I think they are slightly less expensive than the ones I’ve been purchasing.

Toilet Paper Basket

Are y’all tired of hearing about this yet?!  Haha.  Y’all, I ADORE an item that is not only functional but beautiful, and I’m obsessed with this basket.  It fits perfectly on the toilet tank, and it holds three rolls of toilet paper.  The color of the basket really warms up the space, too, and I can never get enough of scallops.

O-Cedar Pacs

It’s also no secret that I’m obsessed with my O-Cedar spin mop.  I bought mine several years ago, and it has made mopping so much more satisfying, and dare I say, somewhat enjoyable?  In the past, I’ve used very diluted Tide powder clothing detergent in my water to mop the floors because I saw someone post that method on Instagram years ago.  It makes the house smell like fresh laundry, which I love, but I recently saw something that said you shouldn’t use detergent on hardwood floors because it can cause residue to build over time, ultimately ruining the floors.  Whoops.  Who knows if that’s true, but just in case, I grabbed these pods when they happened to show up in my recommendations.  They made our whole house smell like a spa and they do make the floors look sparkly clean!  They dissolve almost instantly in hot water, so I didn’t even have to wait, and I’ll be using them going forward.  When I first shared them in a Five on Friday post a few weeks ago, they were one of the most purchased items through my links that week, so I hope all of you who bought them love them as much as I do!

Shower Hooks with Rollers

The kids have a traditional shower with a shower curtain, and they’ve had trouble for years with opening and closing the curtain because the hooks that we had didn’t move over the shower bar smoothly.  They were yanking the shower curtain open and closed so hard that I was worried they were going to pull the whole thing down, so I was excited to find these shower curtain hooks.  They have spherical roller balls on them that allow them to glide smoothly over the bar, and they’re also rust resistant.  I love a product that solves a pain point!

Bedazzling Kit

Olivia has been itching to bedazzle all the things, so she bought this kit with her own money a couple of weeks ago, and she has been bedazzling everything in sight.  This kit comes with 50,000 rhinestones in 40 different colors, and it includes everything you need – tweezers, a pickup pen, clear glue, a scoop, and a couple of trays so you can keep the colors you’re working with close rather than leaving the whole kit open all the time.  It works so well and Olivia has lots of bedazzled items as proof – claw clips, glue sticks, hand sanitizer!  It’s an inexpensive way to keep kids busy and crafty and it would make a great holiday gift!  My girl and I just love to make things pretty!

Yarn Kit

Olivia joined crochet club at school this year, and they were asked to bring one skein of yarn and a crochet hook to the first class.  We decided to go ahead and buy this set of 12 colors since she’ll be using it for the next four months, and we are so pleased with it!  It’s a good quality yarn that has excellent reviews, and there are 1,116 total yards in the pack, so it should last her a long time.

Crochet Hook

We also purchased this crochet hook for her to take to the meetings.  I know nothing about crochet hooks, but Olivia knew that she needed this size, and this one is highly rated, so it ended up being perfect.

Dog Collar

Belle needed a collar, and the kids and I picked out this one.  This brand has soooo many cute colors and patterns, but the three of us loved this one the most.  It fits perfectly, it’s easy to put on and remove, and it’s adjustable so we can continue to use it even if she gets a little bigger.

Dog Seatbelt

I LOVE this thing, y’all.  We just put Belle’s harness on her (Maui’s old one), clip the seatbelt to her harness, and buckle it right into the seatbelt outlet that’s already in the car.  It allows her to move around comfortably, but it keeps her secure, too.

Snuggle Puppy

We bought this before we ever got Belle because we knew we wanted to have one on hand when we brought a new puppy home.  It comes in two different sizes and three different colors, so you can choose the size and color that you think is best for your pup.  It has a Velcro tummy with an insert that simulates a beating heart.  You can choose to have it run constantly for eight hours, or have it turn on intermittently when movement is detected.  It also comes with one warming pack that can also be inserted into its tummy to keep pups warm.  The combination of warmth and heartbeat simulation helps new puppies adapt to their new surroundings because it mimics the feeling of being with their littermates.  We didn’t have one of these for Maui and she cried ALL NIGHT the first night we brought her home + a few subsequent nights, too, but we put this in Belle’s crate with her the first night and she only whined for two minutes and then fell right to sleep and slept for eight hours.  Our minds were blown.  We put this in her crate every night + when we leave her, and when she’s at home, she carries it all around the house… she absolutely loves it!  And Brian and I love it, too, because we have not lost a single second of sleep over this new puppy!  This was my most clicked link and most purchased item last month by far, so y’all are loving it, too!

Science Diet Puppy Food

We gave Maui Science Diet her entire life, she always loved it, and she lived to be 15, so we are giving it to Bellie as well.  I love that they have kibble for small and mini breeds, and they have a puppy version, an adult version, and a mature adult version.  This is the brand we’ve always preferred, and Belle seems to like it, too.  (Well, as far as we can tell… she just does not get excited about food or treats or anything like that.  Haha.)

Bocce’s Training Treats

We purchased these to reward Belle after she goes to the bathroom outside.  They’re tiny so you can give even the smallest dog multiple treats per day.  Belle never really shows any interest in them, so Brian picked up another brand, and she doesn’t really show any interest in those either.  Apparently, she just doesn’t get that excited about food.  We’ll probably continue to try, though!  And I’ve always loved this brand because they’re baked right here in the United States with the highest quality REAL ingredients.  They never use artificial ingredients or preservatives, and they keep their ingredients lists short and their batches small.  They started out as a small business in a tiny NYC kitchen, so we love supporting smaller brands.  Maui was a HUGE fan of all of Bocce’s treats, so I’m hoping Bellie will be one day, too.  They have been my go-to for years.

Paul Klee Book

My dad has been a fine artist his whole life, so as you can imagine, he loves all things art and museums.  Paul Klee is one of his favorite artists of all time, so I purchased this book of his complete works for my dad for his birthday.  He loves it SO much and he was genuinely surprised and excited about receiving it.  The book is HUGE and it’s beautiful, too.

Turmeric

It was time for a refill of turmeric that I take daily to help with inflammation and pain, so I bought this one since it’s one of the least expensive options.  I seriously love this stuff and I’m so glad my therapist told me to look into it a few years back.  It has helped tremendously with my edema and other issues due to high inflammation.  If it could just get rid of all of it forever, that would be nice.  Haha.

Smarty Pants Women’s Multi-Vitamin

It was also time for a refill of my daily multi-vitamin.  Amazon always has the best price, so I always get them there!

Happy Monday, y’all!

14 Finds - Genius Home Organization and Storage Products That Are Functional and Beautiful

*This post contains affiliate links.  As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I am especially excited about this post today because I love being organized and tidy and I love for everything to have a place.  BUT – I also love pretty things, and sometimes it’s hard to find functional items that are also beautiful.  I have found so many good things today and many of these have been added to my wish list as well.  Let’s get started!

Over the Door Jewelry Holder / Mirror

This jewelry organizer is HUGE, so it has ample room to hold earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches, and even nail polish, makeup, and other beauty items!  It hangs on the back of any door (the height is adjustable!) or it can be mounted on any wall, and when the door is closed, it doubles as a mirror.  The door also comes with a lock and key to keep valuables safe.  Functional and so beautiful!

Electronics Organizer

This charging station is perfect for families who leave all their devices to charge in one spot.  This one is large enough to hold up to eight devices including spots for tablets, phones, game consoles, watches, and earbuds.  It comes with the station and six short USB cables so you can keep all the cords organized in the box underneath.  No more cords all over the countertops!  And – IT’S SO PRETTY!  I absolutely love the bamboo top.

Photograph Organizer

Okay, I might be dating myself here, but I know I have plenty of Millennial and Gen Xers who read my blog, and I know all of you have a pile of photographs sitting around from the 90s just waiting to be organized!  ;o)  This gorgeous linen box holds 1,700 4x6 photos and it includes 8 dividers so you can keep them organized by year or event, etc.  Made of linen and trimmed with gold accents, it’s the perfect piece to store in plain sight, keeping all your photos right at your fingertips.  We need physical photographs to make a comeback!!  I just love them!

Toilet Paper Holder

Toilet paper, but make it beautiful!  I recently purchased this toilet paper holder to elevate our guest bathroom, and I love it so much!  It sits on the back of any toilet tank, and it holds three rolls of toilet paper just perfectly.  Every time I walk in our guest bath, this holder makes me smile!  Who knew anyone could get so excited about a toilet paper holder?  Haha.

Sunglasses Organizer

This sunglasses organizer holds at least 9 pairs of sunglasses, and it has a tray at the top to hold rings, watches, and other small items.  The sleek design and gold finish make it a beautiful piece to display anywhere.  Soooo functional, too!  I can see why it's a best seller!

Grocery Bag Holder

We save plastic bags that accumulate from shopping trips (which aren’t many since 99% of the time I use these reuseable shopping bags) and we use them for random things here and there.  We keep ours wrangled in this stainless steel holder that mounts to the wall, but I really love this jute organizer.  It mounts on the door, cabinet, or wall and keeps shopping bags hidden but easily accessible!  This bamboo version is beautiful, too!

Linen Nightstand Organizer

I’ve always loved a nightstand that’s styled and pretty, but in reality, my nightstand has to be functional, too.  We keep all the things beside our beds – tissues, glasses, remote controls, phones, etc. and I love that this organizer adds a touch of elegance to your nightstand while also keeping all those important things right at your fingertips.  It has a spot for tissues and has two compartments for all your other items.  This variation is also awesome because tissues are more discreet and it has the extra compartment on the top that would be perfect for a pretty diffuser like this one!

Toiletry Organizer

Just like nightstands, I love a good clean, tidy, styled bathroom counter, but in real life, I also need my countertop to be functional.  While it would be ideal to hide all our toiletries in a cabinet or drawer, it’s much easier (and faster) to get ready in the morning when all my main items are on the countertop.  This toiletry organizer has three tiers to hold all your daily products, and the genius part is that it rotates 360 degrees for easy access to everything.  It’s sleek and beautiful and it comes in eight different color combinations to match any bathroom aesthetic.  There is also a 2-tiered version as well.

Trash Bag Organizer

This acrylic and bamboo trash bag organizer holds two different sets of trash bags and it’s clear so you can see when rolls are getting low.  It fits most standard and jumbo rolls including the giant 30-gallon yard bags and… it’s so pretty!!

Rolling Laundry Basket

This rolling laundry basket is so genius – it has three different sections so you can separate your colors, and it has detachable wheels (with brakes) and a pull handle so you can roll it through the house and not break your back carrying those large, overstuffed laundry baskets.  It has a portable, machine washable liner that you can remove to carry clothes in separately, and it has a lid so it can blend seamlessly with any décor in any room.  Oh, and it comes in different sizes so you can find the size that works best for your family and your needs.  Beautiful and so functional in every way!

Over-the-Door Organizer

We love an over-the-door organizer!  It’s truly the best way to create extra space in any closet.  Most over-the-door organizers are not attractive, though, but I found one that is!  This one is made of premium beige fabric so it’s the perfect neutral to go in any room.  It has six tiers, holds 50 lbs., and has 12 side mesh pockets.  You could use this in a bedroom, a bathroom, the kitchen, a coat closet… literally anywhere to utilize every inch of space!

Shoe Cabinet

Can you even believe this is a shoe cabinet?!  It looks like a regular (beautiful!) piece of furniture!  Its slim design allows it to fit perfectly in small entryways and mudrooms, and it comes in different colors to match any décor.  Each flip drawer offers two tiers of adjustable storage for tennis shoes, flats, heels, and ankle boots, making it the perfect – beautiful – solution for shoe organization.

Closet Storage Bins

These storage bins are a functional, yet beautiful, way to organize your whole closet.  The angled front opening is genius because it provides clear visibility and easy reach for whatever is stored inside, and these are large enough to hold bags, wallets, sweaters, and anything else you could want to store in a closet.  They are durable and they fold flat when not in use.  These would also be great in a pantry!

Toilet Paper Holder with Shelf

You GUYS.  This toilet paper holder is brilliant because it has a flip-top lid to store feminine products, wipes, and other bathroom essentials right where you need them.  It also has a shelf that you can use to set your phone down.  And it is legit the prettiest toilet paper holder I ever did see!  These are going on my wish list for every bathroom in our home!

14 Finds - Products That Solve Everyday Problems in the Kitchen

*This post contains affiliate links.  As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Happy Monday, y’all!  Today I have the first post in a new series that I’m going to be starting here on the blog and I’m soooo excited about it.  I love sharing products with y’all that I use and love and I also love sharing products that I find that are unique or useful.  I plan to call this series “14 Finds” and in each post I’ll share 14 different products that I’ve found for whatever subject the post is about that day.

Today, I’m sharing 14 products that solve everyday problems in the kitchen.  A few years ago, I took the time to evaluate all the spaces in our home and identify and resolve any pain points, and even though so many of them were just tiny tweaks, they made a world of difference.  It’s my hope today to help all of you alleviate some pain points in your life (specifically in the kitchen) and maybe make your lives a smidge easier.  (And please keep in mind, these are all first world problems!  None of this is the end of the world.  Haha.)

Let’s get started!

Spoon Rest

The Problem – You rest your spoon on the stovetop or the countertop and at the end of mealtime you have additional surfaces to scrub.

The Solution – This silicone utensil holder is flexible and universal, so it securely adapts to any pot and pan handle shapes and sizes,  making it quick and easy to rest any spoon or spatula right over the pot or pan, leaving countertops and stovetops mess-free.  It’s made from food-grade, odorless silicone and it’s heat resistant up to 446 degrees and it keeps your spoon handy.  It’s also dishwasher safe so you can toss it in there and forget it.

Boil Safeguards

The Problem – Your pots always boil over and make a mess of your stovetop.

The Solution – When placed on top of pots, these silicone boil safeguards prevent liquid from boiling over.  They are heat resistant up to 464 degrees and they can be used on the stove, in the microwave (to prevent splattering), and in the oven.  They’re dishwasher safe and they have hanging hooks for easy storage on the back of any cabinet door.

Microwave Splatter Cover

The Problem – Food splatters all over the microwave every time you heat something up so you’re constantly having to clean it.

The Solution – This collapsible microwave splatter cover keeps your microwave spotless while heating food evenly.  It has a vented design to release steam perfectly every time you use it.  You can use it to cover plates, bowls, and various other dishes.  It’s collapsible for easy storage, it’s made of food-safe materials, it’s dishwasher safe, and it also doubles as a colander.  We have been using one of these for years and I couldn’t live without it!  I use ours almost every day.

Angry Mama Microwave Steam Cleaner

The Problem – Your microwave is always dirty because you didn’t know about the splatter covers I just shared.  ;o)

The Solution – This Angry Mama microwave cleaner is the easiest way to clean stuck-on gunk inside your microwave.  Simply fill with vinegar and water and microwave for 5 -7 minutes.  Angry Mama works to loosen up all the crud making it so much easier to wipe right out.  Brian got this for me a couple of years ago and I thought it was the funniest thing.  I’ve used her several times now and I have to say, she’s awesome!  When I use mine, I also add a little bit of fresh lemon juice or a couple of drops of lemon oil to freshen up the scent!

Reuseable Silicone Stretch Lids

The Problem – You’re tired of using so much plastic wrap and/or aluminum foil to cover leftovers because it’s expensive, it’s bad for the environment, and it’s wasteful.

The Solution – These reuseable silicone stretch lids are ahhhh-mazing.  We’ve had them for at least a decade, and we use them all the time.  These silicone lids are adaptable, fitting various sizes of containers, and they simplify food storage and eliminate the search for storage containers.  Simply stretch the lid over bowls, dishes, and other containers to keep food fresh.  They’re dishwasher safe and this pack comes in a variety of sizes that nest in the cabinet to save space.

Sponge Holders

The Problem – Sponges are always laying in the sink and never drying properly because you have no place to put them.

The Solution – This sponge holder!  Just stick it to the inside of your sink (I keep ours stuck to the front of our sink so it’s not visible from the kitchen) and you have the proper place to fully dry your sponge when not in use.  It has an open design for easy draining, and it stays in place.  I never have issues with ours falling off.  This one comes in stainless steel and black.  And if you have more than one sponge that you keep in your sink, you might also like this one that holds sponges and a brush, or this one that has a spot for a traditional sponge and a hook for a Scrub Daddy or Scrub Mommy.

Scrub Daddy

The Problem – You have multiple sponges for different uses.

The Solution – Scrub Daddy!  Scrub Daddy is a smart sponge that’s safe to use on over a dozen surfaces (glass, stainless steel, cast iron, non-stick coatings, copper, chrome, leather, etc.).  It’s temperature controlled so you control the scrubbing power – it’s firm in cold water for tough scrubbing and soft in warm water for lighter cleaning.  It’s so cute, too.  ;o)

Slow Cooker Liners

The Problem – You love using your slow cooker, but you hate cleaning it since food gets baked on around the edges.

The Solution – These slow cooker liners make cleanup a breeze!  Simply drop a liner into the bottom of your slow cooker before you prepare your meal, cook, and remove, leaving a clean slow cooker behind!  These are safe up to 400 degrees, too!

Pan Scrapers

The Problem – It’s impossible to get pans clean when the food gets stuck on them.

The Solution – These BPA-free pan scrapers are made from food-grade silicone.  They have stiff edges that easily scrape food residue off your pots and pans without leaving scratches behind.  Just throw it in the dishwasher when you’re done!  They come in several different colors to fit any kitchen aesthetic, and they have great reviews.

Spring Loaded Drawer Dividers

The Problem – Your kitchen drawers are a mess, and you can’t ever find anything.

The Solution – These spring-loaded drawer dividers come in different sizes and are adjustable to fit any drawers.  They’re easy to install and they have built-in springs and non-slip pads at each of the ends to keep them snug and in place.  Made of bamboo, they are also aesthetically pleasing.  And they’re not just for the kitchen!  These are perfect for organizing bedroom drawers, bathroom drawers, and any other drawers in the whole house!

Over-the-Sink Drying Mat

The Problem – You don’t have a lot of counter space, so you have no place to dry your clean dishes.

The Solution – This dish drying rack fits across sink openings up to 19.5 inches so you can dry your dishes right over the sink.  It’s designed to confidently hold heavy cookware like pans and cast-iron pots, and it has a thick, non-slip silicone surface that creates a soft surface that’s safe for even the most delicate glassware and dishes.  It’s heat resistant up to 400 degrees so it can handle hot cookware, it’s dishwasher safe, and it rolls right up for easy storage.

Small Towel Bar

The Problem – You always have dish rags laying over the sink faucet, in the sink, or draped over the edge of the countertop because you have no other place to put them.

The Solution – This small Command towel bar hangs perfectly inside a kitchen cabinet door to hold wet rags and/or towels.  It’s easy to install, it doesn’t require any holes or drilling or tools, and it removes cleanly with no sticky residue.  It’s also water resistant.  We have had this bar hanging inside the cabinet under our kitchen sink for seven years (Amazon told me the date of purchase when I pulled it up to link it), so we no longer have random dish rags laying around.  And they now dry properly, so they don’t get smelly and we don’t have to replace them as often.

Odor Eliminator Balls

The Problem – Your trash can always smells even though you take the trash out frequently.

The Solution – These odor eliminator balls from Arm & Hammer are easy to toss in the bottom of your trashcan (before you put in the trash bag) and they work all day and night to absorb and neutralize odors at the source.  They come in different scents, but lemon is always my favorite in the kitchen.

Dishwasher Baskets

The Problem – Small items are always fall into the bottom of your dishwasher.

The Solution – This stainless steel dishwasher basket is perfect for wrangling small items and keeping them all in one place while they get cleaned.  No more digging stuff out of the bottom of the dishwasher with these!
