Happy Monday, y’all!  Today I have the first post in a new series that I’m going to be starting here on the blog and I’m soooo excited about it.  I love sharing products with y’all that I use and love and I also love sharing products that I find that are unique or useful.  I plan to call this series “14 Finds” and in each post I’ll share 14 different products that I’ve found for whatever subject the post is about that day.

Today, I’m sharing 14 products that solve everyday problems in the kitchen.  A few years ago, I took the time to evaluate all the spaces in our home and identify and resolve any pain points, and even though so many of them were just tiny tweaks, they made a world of difference.  It’s my hope today to help all of you alleviate some pain points in your life (specifically in the kitchen) and maybe make your lives a smidge easier.  (And please keep in mind, these are all first world problems!  None of this is the end of the world.  Haha.)

Let’s get started!

Spoon Rest

The Problem – You rest your spoon on the stovetop or the countertop and at the end of mealtime you have additional surfaces to scrub.

The Solution – This silicone utensil holder is flexible and universal, so it securely adapts to any pot and pan handle shapes and sizes,  making it quick and easy to rest any spoon or spatula right over the pot or pan, leaving countertops and stovetops mess-free.  It’s made from food-grade, odorless silicone and it’s heat resistant up to 446 degrees and it keeps your spoon handy.  It’s also dishwasher safe so you can toss it in there and forget it.

Boil Safeguards

The Problem – Your pots always boil over and make a mess of your stovetop.

The Solution – When placed on top of pots, these silicone boil safeguards prevent liquid from boiling over.  They are heat resistant up to 464 degrees and they can be used on the stove, in the microwave (to prevent splattering), and in the oven.  They’re dishwasher safe and they have hanging hooks for easy storage on the back of any cabinet door.

Microwave Splatter Cover

The Problem – Food splatters all over the microwave every time you heat something up so you’re constantly having to clean it.

The Solution – This collapsible microwave splatter cover keeps your microwave spotless while heating food evenly.  It has a vented design to release steam perfectly every time you use it.  You can use it to cover plates, bowls, and various other dishes.  It’s collapsible for easy storage, it’s made of food-safe materials, it’s dishwasher safe, and it also doubles as a colander.  We have been using one of these for years and I couldn’t live without it!  I use ours almost every day.

Angry Mama Microwave Steam Cleaner

The Problem – Your microwave is always dirty because you didn’t know about the splatter covers I just shared.  ;o)

The Solution – This Angry Mama microwave cleaner is the easiest way to clean stuck-on gunk inside your microwave.  Simply fill with vinegar and water and microwave for 5 -7 minutes.  Angry Mama works to loosen up all the crud making it so much easier to wipe right out.  Brian got this for me a couple of years ago and I thought it was the funniest thing.  I’ve used her several times now and I have to say, she’s awesome!  When I use mine, I also add a little bit of fresh lemon juice or a couple of drops of lemon oil to freshen up the scent!

Reuseable Silicone Stretch Lids

The Problem – You’re tired of using so much plastic wrap and/or aluminum foil to cover leftovers because it’s expensive, it’s bad for the environment, and it’s wasteful.

The Solution – These reuseable silicone stretch lids are ahhhh-mazing.  We’ve had them for at least a decade, and we use them all the time.  These silicone lids are adaptable, fitting various sizes of containers, and they simplify food storage and eliminate the search for storage containers.  Simply stretch the lid over bowls, dishes, and other containers to keep food fresh.  They’re dishwasher safe and this pack comes in a variety of sizes that nest in the cabinet to save space.

Sponge Holders

The Problem – Sponges are always laying in the sink and never drying properly because you have no place to put them.

The Solution – This sponge holder!  Just stick to the inside of your sink (I keep ours stuck to the front of our sink so it’s not visible from the kitchen) and you have the proper place to fully dry your sponge when not in use.  It has an open design for easy draining, and it stays in place.  I never have issues with ours falling off.  This one comes in stainless steel and black.  And if you have more than one sponge that you keep in your sink, you might also like this one that holds sponges and a brush, or this one that has a spot for a traditional sponge and a hook for a Scrub Daddy or Scrub Mommy.

Scrub Daddy

The Problem – You have multiple sponges for different uses.

The Solution – Scrub Daddy!  Scrub Daddy is a smart sponge that’s safe to use on over a dozen surfaces (glass, stainless steel, cast iron, non-stick coatings, copper, chrome, leather, etc.).  It’s temperature controlled so you control the scrubbing power – it’s firm in cold water for tough scrubbing and soft in warm water for lighter cleaning.  It’s so cute, too.  ;o)

Slow Cooker Liners

The Problem – You love using your slow cooker, but you hate cleaning it since food gets baked on around the edges.

The Solution – These slow cooker liners make cleanup a breeze!  Simply drop a liner into the bottom of your slow cooker before you prepare your meal, cook, and remove, leaving a clean slow cooker behind!  These are safe up to 400 degrees, too!

Pan Scrapers

The Problem – It’s impossible to get pans clean when the food gets stuck on them.

The Solution – These BPA-free pan scrapers are made from food-grade silicone.  They have stiff edges that easily scrape food residue off your pots and pans without leaving scratches behind.  Just throw it in the dishwasher when you’re done!  They come in several different colors to fit any kitchen aesthetic, and they have great reviews.

Spring Loaded Drawer Dividers

The Problem – Your kitchen drawers are a mess, and you can’t ever find anything.

The Solution – These spring-loaded drawer dividers come in different sizes and are adjustable to fit any drawers.  They’re easy to install and they have built-in springs and non-slip pads at each of the ends to keep them snug and in place.  Made of bamboo, they are also aesthetically pleasing.  And they’re not just for the kitchen!  These are perfect for organizing bedroom drawers, bathroom drawers, and any other drawers in the whole house!

Over-the-Sink Drying Mat

The Problem – You don’t have a lot of counter space, so you have no place to dry your clean dishes.

The Solution – This dish drying rack fits across sink openings up to 19.5 inches so you can dry your dishes right over the sink.  It’s designed to confidently hold heavy cookware like pans and cast-iron pots, and it has a thick, non-slip silicone surface that creates a soft surface that’s safe for even the most delicate glassware and dishes.  It’s heat resistant up to 400 degrees so it can handle hot cookware, it’s dishwasher safe, and it rolls right up for easy storage.

Small Towel Bar

The Problem – You always have dish rags laying over the sink faucet, in the sink, or draped over the edge of the countertop because you have no other place to put them.

The Solution – This small Command towel bar hangs perfectly inside a kitchen cabinet door to hold wet rags and/or towels.  It’s easy to install, it doesn’t require any holes or drilling or tools, and it removes cleanly with no sticky residue.  It’s also water resistant.  We have had this bar hanging inside the cabinet under our kitchen sink for seven years (Amazon told me the date of purchase when I pulled it up to link it), so we no longer have random dish rags laying around.  And they now dry properly, so they don’t get smelly and we don’t have to replace them as often.

Odor Eliminator Balls

The Problem – Your trash can always smells even though you take the trash out frequently.

The Solution – These odor eliminator balls from Arm & Hammer are easy to toss in the bottom of your trashcan (before you put in the trash bag) and they work all day and night to absorb and neutralize odors at the source.  They come in different scents, but lemon is always my favorite in the kitchen.

Let me know if you enjoyed this post and if you’d like to see more of them!  And if there’s a specific category you’d like for me to focus on in a 14 Finds post, let me know!

Happy Monday, y’all!
