What I Ordered from Amazon in September 2020

I got some great stuff this month on Amazon and I’m excited to share it with all of you today!  I used up the last of my birthday gift cards to get a couple of cute fall tops and a new curling iron… I’m super excited about the curling iron.  Here’s what I bought in the month of September.

Tunic Sweater

This sweater is positively dreamy, y’all.  I mentioned it in this post last week, and it’s one of my favorite fashion purchases from Amazon ever.  It’s soooo soft, it’s super stretchy, and the quality is so good, it feels like a high-end brand from Nordstrom rather than something I bought from Amazon.  It’s long enough to wear with leggings, and it just looks so chic.  I highly recommend!  If you want to see how I styled it, check out this post here.

Striped Off-the-Shoulder Top

I also mentioned this top in my post last week, and it’s definitely worth mentioning again because it’s so dang cute.  Again, this one is soft and stretchy, and it can be adjusted drastically so that the sleeves can be worn completely off the shoulders or fully on and everywhere in between.  Some of the reviews say that it’s hard to put on because of the adjustable criss-cross portion, but I didn’t have any trouble at all.  I just laid mine out on the bed with the sleeves in place, and then I picked it up and put it on.  Easy peasy, and so dang cute.  Perfect for girls night out or date night.  And it's only $12.99!!!!  If you want to see how I styled it, check out this post here.

Curling Iron

I’ve seen so many people raving about this curling iron, so I decided to check it out for myself.  I have super fine, thin hair so I’m always looking for ways to boost the volume and style... mine is always stick straight and it’s just awful some days.  I haven’t used this yet, but I’ll report back when I do.

Clear Nail Polish Topcoat

I’ve seen people rave about this clear topcoat for years, and I finally decided to try it for myself.  Y’all, this stuff is incredible!!  Not only does it protect your nails after your manicure is complete, it also makes your wet nail polish dry and harden faster.  That’s right, you apply this topcoat while your nail polish is still wet, and it then dries and protects your polish within minutes.  I was verrrry skeptical about painting this on over my already wet nails, but it works like magic!!  My nails have never dried so fast, and I’m now going on day four of my at-home manicure with zero scratches or chips… it looks as fresh as the day I did it!  I’ll never do another manicure without this top coat again.

Bottle Cap Droppers

These dropper caps fit perfectly on the Young Living oil bottles, so I grabbed a pack so I can use them with my thicker oils.  There are several oils that are so thick (Vetiver, for example) they won’t drop out of the standard bottles.  I bought these to stick on those bottles so now I can easily access my oils that I couldn’t before.

Dave Matthews Band Fire Dancer Decal

Most of you probably know that I’m a diehard Dave Matthews Band fan, but if you don’t know, here’s a little history for ya.  DMB has been my favorite band since I was 12 years old.  I own every single album and I’ve seen them in concert 22 times… I’ve seen them every single year (multiple times some years) since 2002… well, until this year since our concert had to be canceled this year due to stupid Covid.  Waaaahhhh.  My blog name is also an ode to their song One Sweet World.  With all of that said, I’ve had a DMB decal on every vehicle I’ve had since 2002, and my new Telluride will be no exception.  This fire dancer is probably the #1 DMB symbol, so I got a new one to represent!  Us DMB fans are always giddy when we spot one of these on someone else’s car.  It’s like we’re in a club.  Haha.  Also, for reference, this decal is plain white... it's just shown on the black background so you can see it for the picture.  The black part won't show up on my car.

Girls Fleece Pants

Olivia is obsessed with all things soft and cozy – seriously – girlfriend has so many blankets.  She recently asked for some “fuzzy pants like Mommy’s” so my first stop to find some was Amazon.  She chose these and they are exactly what she was looking for.  They’re soft, warm, and cozy, and exactly what she was wanting.  They come in several different colors and patterns, and they are perfect for those chilly nights on the horizon.

Jazz Shoes

In addition to taking ballet and tap this year, Olivia is taking jazz for the first time.  She has to have tan jazz shoes, so we bought these on Amazon and they’re really nice.  They do run a little small, though, so be sure to size up.  I bought her true size and I had to exchange them for a half size larger.

Bag Clips

I grabbed some more bag clips to keep all of our chips, crackers, and various bags in the pantry closed.  I like these because they have rubber grips that keep the clip in place.

Glass Straws

These glass straws are perfect to keep on hand for smoothies and other drinks at home.  They’re easy to clean, they’re dishwasher safe, and they’re better for the environment than plastic straws... only $7.95 for this entire set, including the straw brushes.

Minecraft Christmas Ornament

Cheek, our elf, brings new Christmas ornaments for the kids every year, and this year, he’s bringing Minecraft ornaments for both of them.  We always try to get an ornament that’s meaningful for that particular year (something from a trip we’ve taken or one of their favorite things from the year), and this year both of our kids were obsessed with Minecraft.  Olivia is a girly-girl, so I didn’t think she’d want any of the typical boy characters or zombies, but thankfully, Hallmark released this Minecraft pig with a flower on its head.  She loves animals so much, and it’s pink (her favorite color), so this is perfect for her.

Smarty Pants Daily Multivitamins

I’m still taking these vitamins daily, and it was time for a refill.  I love that they’re made with all natural ingredients, and they contain many of the vitamins that you can’t get in other multi-vitamins – Omega-3, CoQ10, Vitamin D3 (a potential weapon in the fight against Covid), and Lutein.

Xyzal

'Tis the season for ragweed pollen, among others, so I’m taking Xyzal every day to keep the runny nose and itchy eyes in check.  Amazon always has the best price by far, even if you have a coupon for Walmart or Target.

Flonase

I couldn’t live without this Flonase Sensimist during allergy season.  After a horrendous bout with a completely clogged nose and head three years ago, my acute care doc told me about it and it has completely changed my life.  And I’m not exaggerating.  Allergy season used to be devastating for me because there were so many days that I couldn’t function due to the amount of gunk in my nose and ears and head.  I have literally not had a single stuffy nose since finding this three years ago.  When I get sick, the one thing I no longer have to worry about is not being able to breathe through my nose.  And it’s non habit-forming like so many other nasal sprays.

Trident White Gum

I chew a lot of gum, and I’ve been on a peppermint kick lately, so this Trident White was necessary to refill my stash.  If you're not buying your gum in bulk from Amazon then you're missing out on saving money!

Tide

I recently discovered Go Clean Co on Instagram, and my goodness, do they have lots of ideas for using powdered Tide!  I’ve always used Swiffer to clean our hard wood floors, but they just don’t seem to do the best job, they don’t get the floors totally clean, and they leave streaks.  I’ve been wanting to revamp my floor cleaning routine for years, but I just never did any research.  Go Clean Co suggests cleaning your floors with hot water and a scoop of powdered Tide, and I’ve been seeing everyone’s results and they are amazing!  I’m going to start using this method as soon as we exhaust our Swiffer supply.

Science Diet Dog Food

We’ve been feeding Maui Science Diet since she was born, and it was time for a refill.  We love it because they have an array of different selections so we can choose the perfect mix based on her needs.

Amazon Gift Card

And as per usual, we had another birthday to celebrate this month, so an Amazon gift card was in order.  This is my very favorite one to give because it comes in a tiny Amazon box… how cute is that?!

Staple Gun

Our staple gun was old and falling apart and we needed a new one.  I just happened to catch this one on a lightning deal, and I’m hoping we’ll like it.  It has nearly 1,000 reviews and 4.5 stars so it sounds like a winner to me!

  1. I just cleaned my floors with tide water, and I think it it did a much better job than my swiffer. A little more time consuming, but I hope it will be worth it. :) I can't wait to hear about the curling iron! I too have very fine hair, an curls never hold.

    1. I can't wait to clean ours that way, too! I'm still trying to get through our last couple of boxes of Swiffers... I'm regretting buying them in bulk because we have so many. Lol.

  2. Adding those chip clips to my list when I need some more - love the colors and the fact that they have a magnet. Perfect to use on the fridge, too, for papers. I have been thinking about using the Tide method to do my floors, too! It seems like powdered Tide can clean anything!

  12. I might have to look into those bag clips! My favorite Amazon buy is a cape for when I am cutting the boys hair! Looking forward to your review on that curling iron. I just bought an inexpensive curling wand but haven't used it much.
