What I Ordered from Amazon in January 2021

Surprisingly, even though I received a few Amazon gift cards for Christmas, I didn’t buy much in January… just a few small odds and ends and a couple of refills of regularly used items.  Normally, gift cards burn a hole in my pocket, but my Amazon wish list is so overwhelming (I mean, seriously, they have everything) when I finally get a gift card, I always have a hard time narrowing my choices and actually making a purchase.  Kind of silly, right?  Ready to see what I bought?

Star Garland

I bought this package of star garland to use for our Christmas mantle a couple of years ago, and it’s one of my most favorite parts of our entire Christmas décor now.  It adds such a wonderful touch of whimsy which is just perfect at Christmastime.  I grabbed another one this month to use for blog picture staging and other things, and since there are two in each package, I may hang the extra one in Olivia’s bedroom.  These are long at around 11.5 feet each, and there are two per pack for a total of 23 feet, so you get a lot of bang for your buck.  They are perfect for weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, kids’ bedrooms, and, of course, holiday decorating.

Gold Star Paper Straws

I have an obsession with paper straws… Olivia and I both love drinking from them and I also love to use them for bar cart décor.  I always have them on hand, and I especially love to use them for the different holidays.  I realized when decorating for New Year’s Eve that I really didn’t have anything NYE appropriate aside from the black polka dot straws I use every day, so I went ahead and grabbed these for New Year’s Eve 2021.  I’ll probably put them out for Christmas, too.  I just love gold stars!

Black Polka Dot Paper Straws

And speaking of black polka dot paper straws, we’ve nearly exhausted the first batch that I bought a couple of years ago, so it was time for a refill.  I noticed that these are no longer available when I went to link them, but I’m hoping they’ll eventually be back in stock since I love them so.

Plastic Plant Saucers (Drip Trays)

My father-in-law gave me a clipping from an old family member’s plant as part of my Christmas gift, so I grabbed this set of three drip trays from Amazon to use under the pot.  There were two other plants in our bedroom that didn’t have drip trays, so the three-pack was perfect.  These come three in a package for $6.99 and I am SO impressed with the quality.  I was worried they would be made from that flimsy disposable plastic, but I was pleasantly surprised that they are actually very thick and substantial.  They come in black, brown, and white, and range in size from 6 inches to 15 inches and everything in between.  I highly recommend these if you’re a crazy plant lady like me and are in need of some sturdy drip trays.

Pumice Toilet Bowl Cleaning Stone

We’ve lived in our house for 11 years, and a couple of our toilets have reached the point where they have permanent hard water rings in the bowls.  I spent so much time over Christmas break trying to remove the rings, but nothing has worked.  I recently saw someone (can’t remember who) talk about this pumice toilet cleaning stone, and I immediately jumped on Amazon to grab one.  I haven’t used it yet, but I’ll try to remember to report back after I do.  This one has nearly 12,000 reviews and 4.6 out of 5 stars, and everyone raves about it in the reviews so I have high hopes for it.  Supposedly this pumice stone will get rid of limescale, hard water rings, calcium buildup, iron, and rust, so we shall see…

Bead Stopper

I’ve been making my own bracelets lately, and Olivia has been begging me to make some for her as well, so I finally decided to grab a bead stopper.  I didn’t want to spend the money when I first started because I wasn’t sure if I’d actually make very many, but I’m enjoying it and will definitely continue.  After having all of my beads roll right off the string on several different occasions, I finally decided to just go ahead and grab one of these.  The stopper clamps down on one end of the string so you can thread the beads on the other end without having to worry about dumping them all off of the other side.  A must-have if you are an avid jewelry maker.  And what I didn't realize when I purchased this is that this package includes four of them!

Lego Super Mario Expansion Kit

We always get the kids a little something for Valentine's Day.  When they were really small, it was always a Valentine's Day themed book or stuffed animal or candy, but the older they get, the harder it is to find something they'd like that isn't too baby-ish.  This year, we opted to get them something small that we know they'll love.  We got Jacob this Super Mario Expansion Kit to go along with the Lego set he received for Christmas.

Imagine Ink Coloring Book Set

My mother-in-law gave Olivia an Imagine Ink coloring book for Christmas, and she has been talking about it nonstop ever since.  I grabbed this pack to give to her for Valentine's Day.

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation

I’ve been using this foundation for years because it has great coverage without being too thick and goopy.  Amazon always has the best prices by far, so I grabbed three of them.

Smarty Pants Women’s Daily Multivitamins

I’ve raved about these vitamins here on the blog for months and it was time for a refill. They were out of stock on Amazon for a couple of weeks, so I went ahead and grabbed three bottles when they came back in stock… I don’t want to run the risk of running out and having to buy them directly from Smarty Pants as they’re more expensive there.  Again, I love these because they have every single thing that I want in a vitamin, Omega 3 and Vitamin D3 being two of the primary things… Vitamin D3 is said to be a great tool for boosting the immune system to help fight Covid-19 so that was my number one requirement.  I take these every morning on an empty stomach or after a very small breakfast, and I’ve never had any stomach upset or nausea like I have with other multivitamins.  Love love love these and I hope Smarty Pants continues to make them forever and ever.

That’s everything, y’all!  Happy Monday!!

  6. Serena loves those magical ink sets too! And I need that pumice stone for our toilets too. Can't believe our house turns 10 in June - that plus hard water is not good for business <3
