Five on Friday - Quince Jeans Review, AE Tanks, Vibration Plates, and Lymphatic Brushes

Well, I’ve officially reached the time of year where all motivation has gone out the window, and I’m just as excited for summer break as the kids.  That said, I have no desire (and no time this week) to be sitting at my computer to write, so let’s get this party started and finished so I can get on to all the things!

Here are some favorites from the week!

O N E – Quince Jeans

I had some birthday money leftover after one of the items I originally ordered fell through (I ordered something from Etsy, but it was a fake account, so it was a whole thing, but Etsy was wonderful and refunded my money immediately), so I decided to spend it on some wide leg jeans instead.

I’ve been seeing so much about Quince on social media (they sell luxury products without the luxury price tag), and my girlfriends have also given the website their stamp of approval, so I decided to purchase these jeans from there.

I have to say, I am incredibly impressed with the whole transaction from start to finish, y’all!  I ordered two different pairs of jeans because I wasn’t sure which style I would like best.  They arrived just two days after I ordered (shipping was free!) and the jeans are really, really great.  Both pairs are high quality, comfortable, and they have the perfect amount of stretch.  I ended up keeping the Bella Stretch Wide Leg Jeans in Frosted Blue and I love them.

The jeans come in an array of sizes, and you can customize the length (short, regular, tall) for each size.  The jeans are true-to-size, and as far as the length goes, the short length was perfect for me.  I’m 5’5” for reference.

The return process was just as easy as the order process (and it was also FREE!) – I just sealed the pair that I didn’t want in the same shipping package that my jeans arrived in, I attached the prepaid label to the front, and I stuck them in my mailbox with the flag up.  Easy peasy!

And although Quince is known for their denim, they sell so many other different things as well – bedding and linens, home décor, apparel, bags, jewelry, beauty products, and so much other stuff.  One of my friends purchased sheets from there and she said they are incredible.  So, I’ll most definitely be adding Quince to my shopping radar for future purchases.

T W O – AE Tanks

I wanted to find some flowy tanks for summer, so I grabbed a couple of these AE tanks while they were half off, and I love them soooo much.  They’re 100% cotton so they’re comfy and breathable, and they’re soooo cuuuute!  And since the top section is smocked, it’s nice and stretchy, too.  It comes in six different colors, and I’ll be living in them this summer.

T H R E E – Vibration Plate

Brian and the kids gave me a vibration plate for Mother’s Day since I’ve been wanting one, and I ordered it earlier this week.  I’ve had issues with swelling and puffiness my whole life (especially in my feet, ankles, and hands, but also in my abdomen thanks to my c-section 12 years ago), and while turmeric helped tremendously for years, I’ve been having issues with it again recently.

I started researching lymphatic drainage recently, and it turns out that vibration plates help your lymphatic drainage system get moving if it’s stagnant.  When your lymphatic drainage system gets bogged down, it can end up causing swelling and circulation issues, pain, and many other problems, so I’m wondering if that’s the issue that I’ve had my whole life.

Lymphatic drainage assistance is the primary reason that I wanted one, but in addition to that, vibration plates also offer many other benefits – faster muscle building and toning, increased bone density, enhanced circulation, better balance and stability, faster workout recovery, and reduced joint pain/stress.  I’ve seen many people also say that it helps keep their digestive systems regular, too, although, I never really came across any official data about that during my research.

I haven’t had the chance to use my plate yet since it just arrived, but I’ll be sure to report back in a couple of weeks to let y’all know what I think!  When I first started seeing everything on social media about vibration plates, I honestly thought it was just another influencer trend that probably doesn’t work, but after doing lots of research, I found that it actually seems legit.  My upper cervical chiropractor is also a huge believer in supporting the lymphatic drainage system, and he ordered a lymphatic drainage massage for me a few months ago when I was having issues with my withdrawals from tapering from my vertigo medicine, and I swear it made a huge difference in my recovery.  So, I’m already a believer in lymphatic drainage support, and hopefully, this vibration plate won’t let me down… I have high hopes!

F O U R – Lymphatic Brush

Speaking of lymphatic drainage, I mentioned a few weeks ago that I purchased one of these brushes that have also been all over social media, and y’all, I have to say that I freaking love mine SO MUCH.  I have been using it daily for a couple of weeks now, and I can tell that it has made a difference.

For starters, I’ve been having issues with my left ear – I started having pain in front of it recently and I worried I was getting an ear infection, but it didn’t make sense that it was an infection because the inside of my ear didn’t actually hurt… it was just the spot right in front of my ear opening that hurt, and it only hurt to the touch.  Well, it turns out that there’s a lymph node right in front of each ear, and those nodes can get swollen if they’re not draining properly.  After just a few days of using my lymphatic drainage brush, the pain finally went away after weeks of having it.

In addition to that, when I use the brush first thing in morning, it does decrease the puffiness in my face (except my under-eye bags… I’ve had those since I was little, so they’re not going anywhere), but the best part is – IT FEELS SO GOOD.  It’s honestly my favorite part of my morning routine now because it’s so energizing – and calming at the same time – and it just feels so good.  The brush is so soft, and it feels amazing on my sensitive skin.  It doesn’t leave any marks or irritation behind and I am definitely a believer in this little brush!  This will be a part of my morning routine going forward.

(Side note, I have done soooo much research about lymphatic drainage recently, and I found out that there’s a specific way that you must do it or it won’t work as well.  I used this video to learn the proper technique for the face, and this is what I do each morning.  Also, as all of you probably know, I am not a doctor, so I’m only letting you know what works for me.  Always talk to your own doctor before you start any kind of new health regimen.  <3)

F I V E – This Sentiment

From the get-go, I have loved the show Shrinking, and it quickly moved into my top five of best shows of all time.  This sentiment popped up in my social media feed recently and I was really moved because that was the quote that stood out to me the most in this entire last season.

Life is hard, y’all, but all the scars that we wear, physically and metaphorically, are signs of a life lived to the fullest.  You’ll never have a full life if you don’t love hard and take chances.  But loving hard and taking chances sometimes come with consequences.  Loss.  Failure.  Grief.  Disappointment.  While none of that is ideal, I do know I would much rather have those scars than to never live at all.  <3
