My Review of the Simplified Planner One Year Later

It’s one of my favorite days of the year today, y’all… the day that I get to order my planner for the upcoming year!  I’ve used a paper planner my whole life and I’ve tried lots of different brands over the years.  After nearly one year of using the Simplified Planner by Emily Ley I can definitely say that I have finally found my planner soul mate.

I’ve used At a Glance, Sugar Paper, Erin Condren, Plum Paper, and Simplified planners and the Simplified planner is by far my favorite.  It has everything that I need and nothing that I don’t.  The paper is high quality so my favorite Pilot Pens don’t bleed through.  They come in gorgeous designs.  And there is enough space for me to keep track of everything in one place.

I use my planner to keep track of every single thing for our family of four – all of our appointments, meetings, extracurriculars, birthdays, and anniversaries as well as my daily schedules, daily to-do lists, and meal plan… my entire life is in that planner so if anything ever happened to it I’d be in big trouble.

The Simplified Planner is offered in two formats – a daily edition and a weekly edition.  I prefer the daily edition because it has an entire page for each day which gives me plenty of space to keep track of everything.  Most of my pages are filled to the brim so I need the extra room!

Each daily edition planner features the following:

January – December (one day per page + shared weekend pages)
Each daily page has:
-          Hourly schedule 6 AM to 9 PM
-          To-Do section for 16 items
-          Blank section to jot notes/meal ideas
Full month views
Thick, 70 lbs. pure white Mohawk Via paper
4 notes pages (this is new this year and I’m soooo excited for the addition!)
4 pages of Simplified prep-work to help you plan your year
Colorful stickers
Hard cover with gold foil details
Protective gold corners
Inside pocket
Colorful, sturdy tabs for each month

And Emily Ley also offers many other products to supplement your planner like mini notebooks, page markers, stretchy bands to keep everything together, the cutest paper clips in hearts, stars, pineapples and many other designs, and stickers.  I have all of the above!

I have been singing the praises of this planner all year because it's the one planner that finally gave me the tools I needed to get my entire life organized once and for all.  I love my daily edition planner so much I even wrote two blog posts about it this year:

If you want details on how I organized my entire life, that second post is for you!  It is money, y’all.  In that post I break down every little detail about how I use my Simplified planner in conjunction with a series of lists that I created to stay organized to the max.  There’s a place for everything.  And that post is currently viral on Pinterest.  :o)

Anyway, the Simplified Planners will be going on sale for the 2020 calendar year TODAY at 10 AM EST and you can bet I’ll be first in line!  I’m going with the Pink Pineapple design this time.  Certain designs do sell out very quickly, so if you’ve been considering purchasing one, I highly recommend being on the website at 10 AM sharp.  You can get yours here!

Happy shopping, y’all!

  2. One day I will get back to using a paper planner when I'm not toting around 500 million things haha! I now use my google calendar, which is great for this season in life, but I really thrive with a paper planner!

  7. I have the academic year one so still getting used to mine. I got the hardcover one but I think I will go back to spiral next time. I am a monthly calendar view person and I find the hardcover one's monthly view is a bit small. I love how organized you are!

  8. I love all those colors! I just can not get myself in the habit of actually USING the planner. I start to fill it in and then seem to forget about it completely.

    1. I'd be lost without mine. We'd be missing appointments and practices and everything else if I didn't use mine. Haha.

  9. I love the planner look, but I just don't use them enough. Though the heart paper clips make me want to.

  10. Yes, I LOVE her. If you don't follow her on IG already, you should. She's inspiring and humble and so down-to-earth. She seems like a truly good person and that makes me want to support her brand even more.
