What I Ordered from Amazon in February 2021

Another month has gone by, and today I’m talking all about my Amazon purchases in the month of February!

Ballet Pointe Shoes

Olivia is in her third year of dance, and she has been asking from the very beginning when she’ll get to wear some fancy pointe shoes and dance on her tippy toes.  I’ve explained to her that she won’t get to do that until she’s a little older because we have to wait for her feet to develop a little more, but being the stubborn gal that she is, she will not take no for an answer.  Haha.  She has been begging for a pair for her birthday for weeks, so after a bit of discussion, B and I decided to buy some for her.  She will obviously only be using them for dress-up and playing at home, and she won’t be using them in dance class, so we figured there’s probably little harm in that.  That said, she is very clumsy (although, surprisingly graceful when she dances), so I’m praying she doesn’t manage to break an ankle or mess up her feet in them.  We’ll definitely be limiting her time in them.  Haha.

All that said, we decided to go with something basic… no sense in spending a lot of money on super nice ones since these will only be used for playtime.  I don’t have much experience with pointe shoes (other than wearing my friend’s one time at her house), but these are absolutely beautiful, and the quality seems to be good.  And unlike many of the other pointe shoes on the internet, the toe pad was included with these, which I liked.  Most other brands sell them separately.  These have 500+ reviews and 4.3 stars, and they’re a fraction of the cost of real ones (only $26.99), so they are definitely a great choice for playing dress-up!  So, if your little girl is begging to be a ballerina at home, these will definitely make her feel like the real thing.  ;o)

Sweater

I bought this sweater earlier this month with some of my Amazon gift card money from Christmas, and I already mentioned it in my post on Friday.  If you missed that post, here’s what I had to say about it…

Y’all, I love this sweater!!  It’s the same fabric and weave as this sweater that I’ve raved about for the last few months, but it’s a different style.  The fit is loose, but not unflattering, and it’s long enough to wear with leggings.  The neckline is feminine and beautiful, too, and it’s SO SOFT.  The quality is also top-notch, and it comes in multiple colors… I went with the blush pink, and it’s the perfect shade.  Since the fit is oversized, I sized down to an extra-small (I usually wear a small) and it’s just perfect.  I know spring is on its way, but I’m going to be thanking myself in the fall when I get to wear it on repeat!

Imagine Ink Coloring Books

I bought this set for Olivia, and we gave three of them to her for Valentine’s Day, and the other three for her birthday.  I also mentioned these in my blog post on Friday, so here’s the blurb in case you missed it…

My mother-in-law gave one of these Imagine Ink coloring books to Olivia for Christmas, and Olivia loved it so much that she did the whole thing in one sitting.  We bought three more of them for her for Valentine’s Day and, again, she did all three of them immediately… she cannot get enough of them!  Each book comes with a special clear mess-free marker, and the colors and games are revealed on the pages when colored.  They are the perfect affordable birthday party gift at around $5 - $6 each, and they are also great for taking on long trips because you don’t have to worry about the marker making a mess!  Amazon has a huge selection of these, and you can pretty much find them for any of your child’s favorite characters!  Highly recommend!

Sherpa Throw

Maui, our little pup, is teeny tiny and she’s always freezing.  She loves nothing more than a cozy blanket and a warm lap, and the older she gets, the more she loves being cozy.  She has her own little crate with a bed and a blanket that she sleeps in every night, but I still worry about her being cold.  I discovered the joys of Sherpa last winter, and it is legit the warmest fabric in existence, so I decided to grab a Sherpa throw for Maui’s crate in hopes that I’ll keep her a little warmer.  This blanket is Sherpa on one side and fleece on the other, and it is the softest, warmest thing ever!  Maui seems to love it, and I have peace of mind that she’s warm enough.  We had a colder-than-average winter!

Jojoba Oil

Y’all know I’ve been oiling for nearly a couple of years now, and this jojoba oil is my go-to carrier oil.  It won’t clog your pores like most oils, and it’s really great for your skin.  I ran out of my last bottle, so I just needed to order a refill.  This is my third bottle!

Mandalorian T-Shirt

I wanted to find a good Mandalorian t-shirt for Brian for Valentine’s Day, and after shopping the entire internet, I ended up finding the best one on Amazon!  I love how the “This is the Way” forms the shape of Mando’s mask!  The shirt is good and thick, nice quality, and the print looks great, so we were very pleased.  B loves it!

Luigi’s Mansion for Nintendo Switch

B and the kids love playing video games together on the weekend, so I bought Luigi’s Mansion for B as part of his birthday gift this year.  It’s one of the best rated video games for the Switch ever, and the reviews are fantastic!  B and the kids haven’t played it yet, so I’ll have to report back when they do.

Baby Yoda Socks

These socks were another find for B for Valentine’s Day to go along with his Mando t-shirt, and they are so darn cute!  The socks are a little on the thinner side as they’re meant to be dress socks, but the overall quality is great.  Perfect gift or future stocking stuffer for the Star Wars-loving hubs!

Be the Bridge

I bought this book to read for Black History Month and I learned so much from it.  I actually discussed it in my post last Friday, too, so here’s my original blurb about it in case you missed it.

This book tackles some of the tough issues happening in our nation, and it also covers some of the issues that happened in the past… the ones that got us here in the first place.  Each chapter discusses a different step we can take to “be the bridge” to heal the racial issues that our country is facing, and there are even specific prayers to pray every step of the way.

Parts of the book are absolutely heart-breaking, but in order to truly put yourself in another’s shoes, I thought that the heart-breaking parts were some of the most important to read.  Overall, I thought this book was very inspiring, and it truly made me want to work harder to do my part to help heal this nation.  I highly recommend this book for anyone hoping to learn how they, too, can be a bridge for racial reconciliation.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel

I’ve been using this cleanser for several months now and I love it!  I use it every single night to remove my makeup, and it does its job with ease, leaving my face feeling clean, but also hydrated.  I have very dry skin, so most cleansers leave my skin feeling tight and dry, but this one doesn’t do that.  It also contains hyaluronic acid, and that is great because it works to retain your skin’s natural moisture and keep skin looking firm.  It’s also inexpensive as far as decent face cleansers go, which is an added bonus.  I highly recommend it!

Frozen Birthday Card

Olivia is still obsessed with the Frozen franchise, and she requested a Frozen 2 birthday cake, so it was only appropriate to go with a Frozen birthday card as well.  :o)  This one comes with a sweet little silicone bracelet with a snowflake charm, so I knew she’d love it!

Everyone Gets to be Young Once Birthday Card

As I’ve mentioned plenty of times here on the blog, we’re all trying to avoid shopping in-person when possible, so I’ve been buying all sorts of random things online when I can… one being greeting cards.  Amazon has a huge selection, and although, some are probably a little more expensive on Amazon than they would be in the store, most seem to be priced about the same as they would be in the store.  My birthday card stash was dwindling, so I bought a couple on Amazon that I came across.  This one cracked me up, so I knew it was a winner.  On the front, it says, “Everyone gets to be young once…” and then when you open it, it says, “your turn’s over.”  Hahahaha.

May the Beer Be Cold Birthday Card

And this was another birthday card to replenish my stash!

This month, I also thought I’d include a few of B’s purchases since he bought two of Olivia’s birthday gifts under his account.

Anker Bluetooth Headphones

Olivia’s headphones broke when the kids were doing virtual learning right after Christmas, so B bought these as a replacement.

Star Projector

Jacob has this star projector in his room (in blue) and Olivia has been wanting one ever since he got his.  It projects the moon and stars on the ceiling (and walls) and there are lots of different settings so you can customize it to your liking.  There are four different star colors, and you can choose from rotating, twinkling, or still.  It can run on batteries or electricity with the USB plug, and the shell comes in five different colors.  Jacob’s has held up very well, so hopefully Olivia’s will, too!

Casio Mini Keyboard

Olivia had been telling B she wanted a keyboard for a while, so we bought this one for her.  It has 44 keys, an LCD screen, 100 tones, 50 rhythms, 10 songs, and 5 drum pads.  There is also a headphone output which will save my sanity at some point eventually.  This one has 5k ratings and 4.5 stars and we’ve been very impressed with it so far.

That’s everything, y’all!  Happy Monday!!

  6. So many good things! I saw your picture with Olivia in those precious ballet shoes. She looked so happy. That sweater looks so cozy! I'm wearing one from Amazon today too. I'm sure Olivia plays the keyboard a lot more civil than my boys do, haha.
