Five on Friday - April Goals

My motivation was back in March after struggling pretty badly in February, and I ended up doing pretty well on my goals.  I didn’t do quite as well as I’d hoped, but when I set my goals for March, I didn’t know that we’d be going to the beach for spring break since it was a last-minute trip.  Going to the beach meant less time to accomplish everything, but I’d choose the beach trip over accomplishing goals any day!  Beach time was time well-spent.

Today I’m recapping my March goals and listing my April goals.  As always, I’m using a Y for YES and N for NO to indicate whether or not I accomplished my goals.

March Goals

Relationships/Connect/Be the Light

Y  Visit with my Mama Cass for her birthday. – my extended family was able to get together for an outdoor, socially distant party and it was so much fun!

Y  Visit with my mother-in-law for her birthday. – we were able to get together for a socially distant lunch at my MIL and step-FIL’s house!

Y  Catch up with an old coworker.

Y  Send a random text to someone I haven’t talked to in a while.

*There were a few other things that I did this past month to connect with others and “be the light,” but it just feels weird listing all of them out since good deeds don’t necessarily always need to be recognized.  For this reason, I’ll probably continue to keep some of the things I do each month to myself.

                                                                                  Personal/Health/Wellness/Fitness/Beauty

Y  Meditate, quiet time, and affirmations every day.

Y  Drink 64 oz. most days.  Gotta get back on the wagon!

Y  Find another new healthy dish to add to my lunch rotation. – this month I started making Greek yogurt, fruit, and granola parfaits… I use the Oikos Triple Zero Greek yogurt because it’s high in protein and very low in sugar, I add strawberries and blueberries, and I use organic granola.  I top it off with some Chia seeds and it is so delicious!

N  Close all rings on my Apple Watch at least 15 days. – I closed mine 14 days this month… I totally dropped the ball on vacation and have no regrets!

Y  Try Pilates. – yep, tried it and loved it!

Y  Get outside in the fresh air more often. – we ate many dinners on the back porch this month and I also started taking breaks several times per week to get out for walks around the neighborhood with Maui.

Y  Visit with therapist via Zoom.

Y  Go to DMV and renew my driver’s license.

Y  Get my hair highlighted and trimmed!  Finally!

Y  Donate blood.

Y  Continue observing Lent (Best Lent Ever video devotional, gratitude journal, give up something, no meat on Fridays).

Y  Read Everybody Always. – Yes, and I adored it!

Y  Read a fiction book. – I read Dear Edward and I thought it was really good!

Family/Fun

Y  Watch Jacob play baseball.

Y  Eat dinner on the back porch.

Y  Do something fun/safe for spring break. – We went to the beeeeaaaach!

Y  Record a video every single day of the month and upload to my One Second a Day app.

Home/Organization/Planning

Y  Clean out closet under stairs, take two.

Y  Clean out command center, take two.

Y  Clean out buffet table in dining room, take two.

Y  Clean out my dresser, take two.

Y  Clean out my nightstand, take two.

N  Clean out master bathroom, take two.

N  Clean out kids’ bathroom, take two.

Y  Complete 1 thing on Master To-Do list. – I ended up doing, not 1, but 2 things this month!

Blog/Social Media

Y  Post 3-4 times per week.

Y  Start sharing daily to-do lists on Instagram stories again.

N  Install new blog template and reorganize layout, blog tabs, etc.

N  Start reorganizing blog labels.

N  Start updating/reformatting blog pages.

  3. Reading your good deeds goal has me motivated. You have a sweet heart! Love reading all your goals. I have been toying around with the idea of doing monthly goals too. I love making my spring goals and think my personality would benefit from laying out monthly tasks. Hope you have a great weekend, Lindsay!
