What I Ordered from Amazon in August 2022

I found some great stuff on Amazon in August, and I’m sharing all of it today!

Belt Bag

I’ve been wanting one of the Lululemon belt bags for months, but they have been out of stock.  My friend, Emily, found this bag on Amazon, and it is a dead ringer for the Lululemon bag… and for half the price!  The quality is fantastic, and the size is perfect, and I am so excited to have this bag!!  In the fall, we attend lots of events where we walk around a lot, and there’s nothing worse than having to tote around a giant, heavy bag all day.  I’ve been wanting a small, comfortable bag that holds all of my essentials, and this one fits the bill!  And it’s so stylish unlike so many other belt bags AKA fanny packs.  This bag comes in 28 colors so you can find the one that’s right for you, and the 2,500+ reviews are excellent… it has 4.7 / 5 stars, most from people who were also seeking the Lululemon bag.

Spooky Season Sweatshirt

This Spooky Season sweatshirt is darling, and it’s oh so comfy.  I love that it’s festive yet understated.  The quality is great, the sweatshirt is so soft, and the emblem is embroidered which is such a nice detail.  I ordered a medium for a slightly oversized fit, and I found it to be true-to-size.  This one will be getting lots of use soon!  It also comes in orange if you want to jazz things up with a more traditional Halloween color.

Jack O Lantern Sweatshirt

This sweatshirt is anything but understated, but it’s so much fun!!  I’ve owned it in orange for many years, and I decided this year that I wanted to add the grey one to my collection, too.  This sweatshirt is on the thinner side (which I actually prefer since it’s typically not very cold here in October), and it’s oversized, so you can wear it with leggings.  I ordered the medium, and it’s the perfect length.  It also has a slouchy fit which gives it an even cuter look.  Not only does it come in orange and grey, it also comes in black, and there are also six other designs/faces if you want something different.

Ballet Shoes

Olivia just started her fifth year of dance, and she has officially outgrown the ballet shoes that can be purchased at Target.  Therefore, I turned to Amazon (as one does) to find something for her, and we opted for these Capezio ballet shoes because they’re 100% leather.  I figured it was about time to get some nicer shoes for her anyway since she’s getting older and more serious about dance.  They come in tons of sizes, and they also come in narrow and wide options as well.  We found that these run very small, so Olivia had to size up two full sizes from her standard shoe size.

Jazz Shoes

Olivia has been using these jazz shoes for a couple of years now, and we love them, too.  They are also 100% leather, and the quality is excellent.  Olivia loves them because they’re comfortable, and I love them because they last the entire 10 months of dance, and we don’t have to buy new ones halfway through.  I highly recommend these.  And they come in black, too, if that’s what your child’s dance studio requires.  They are true-to-size.

Convertible Tights

These tights are the best of the best, and they’re the only ones that I buy for Olivia.  They are comfortable and stretchy, but they’re soooo durable, and they last forever, even with Olivia… she often gives meaning to the phrase, “This is why we can’t have nice things.”  Haha.  We also love that these are convertible, so she can wear the same pair of tights for all of her classes… she wears them the standard way for ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theatre, and then all she has to do for lyrical class is slide her foot through the hole in the bottom, and voila, her feet are bare for her lyrical shoes!  Perfection.

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Loose Powder Foundation

I started wearing this powder a couple of years ago, and I love it because it’s so lightweight.  It covers imperfections and reduces redness on my face, but it’s breathable!  I always have trouble finding this one in stores, but Amazon always has it stocked in all shades.

Revlon Oil Absorbing Roller

I can’t remember who posted about this oil absorbing roller, but I was totally influenced, and I grabbed one.  My skin was very dry on my face for years, but it has recently become oily again, so I couldn’t grab this thing fast enough.  Y’all, it works!!  When your face starts to get oily midway through the day, all you do is roll it on right over your makeup and it soaks up all of the excess facial oil.  It won’t mess up your makeup and it gives your face a matte-like finish as if you just applied powder.  The best part is, unlike blotting papers, it’s reusable!  To clean, you just unlock the stone from the roller ring, wash with a gentle cleanser, rinse, let it dry, and pop it back in.  This thing is a winner, y’all, and it’s very small so it fits right in your purse!  It currently has 44,000+ reviews and 4.3 / 5 stars so you know it’s great!

Sit n Float Inflatable Swimming Pool Lounge

We took the kids to the pool a lot this summer, and I often found myself wishing that I had a nice float to lounge on while we were there.  I popped on to Amazon and bought this two-pack, and I can’t wait to use them.  I love that they allow you to sit up rather than lay down, but they’re supportive with a full back rest.  They also have cupholders so you can bring your drink along with you in the pool.  I’ll have to report back after we use them… that may not happen until next summer at the rate we’re going!

Diving Toys

Since we went to the pool so much this summer, I thought it was about time to purchase some pool toys.  The kids love diving to the bottom to retrieve things, so I bought this pack of diving torpedos.  Again, we haven’t had the chance to use them, but they have great reviews, so I’m sure they’ll be winners.

Shampoo Scalp Scrubbers

I bought this two-pack of scalp scrubbers for myself a few months ago, and I love them so much that I decided to buy some for the kids.  These scalp scrubbers feel absolutely heavenly on your head, and they also leave my scalp feeling cleaner than ever before.  Our kiddos still have trouble scrubbing their scalps properly, but this little gadget helps them get it nice and clean!

Panda Shopping Bag

Olivia’s teacher is obsessed with panda bears (her whole classroom is decorated with them), so I grabbed this bag to include with her birthday gift from the class.  We put together a little basket of all of her favorite things and this was the perfect addition to add a little pop of fun and color.

Alfred’s Basic Piano Library Lesson Book 2

Jacob flew through his first piano book, and he’s already mastered everything in there, so his piano teacher asked me to purchase book two to use at his lessons so he can further his studies.

Avery Extra Wide 2-inch Binder

Confession: I have recipes everywhere.  There are some in books.  There are some that I printed out that are sitting in a stack in a kitchen cabinet.  There are some that are hand-written in a recipe box.  And there are some that are typed up neatly in the recipe binder that my Momma made for me before I got married.  They are so disorganized (except for the ones in the binder), that it makes meal planning a huge pain.  I’ve outgrown the binder that Momma made me, so I’m in the process of making a new one and doing a complete rehaul of the way I store recipes.  I bought this 2-inch binder because it’s huge and it should hold everything, but I also chose this one because it’s extra wide.  I plan to use dividers with pockets, and those are so wide that the tabs ALWAYS stick out of the binder, and I can’t stand that, so I’m hoping the tabs won’t stick out of this one.  On another note, why on earth are binders so expensive?!  Even at Target and Walmart they're crazy expensive!!

Xyzal

This was another refill for my allergies… the worst time of year for my allergies is here – ragweed season – so I needed to be well-stocked.  I’ve found that Xyzal works much better for me than Claritin or Zyrtec, and I actually take it every single day year-round.  Sigh.

Flonase Sensimist

This Flonase Sensimist is also another tool I use every day to combat allergy issues.  I have literally not had a stuffy nose since I started using this many years ago.  Even when I’m super sick my nose always stays clear when I use this!

Amazon Flower Pot Gift Card

I purchased this gift card to include in the birthday gift for Olivia’s teacher… isn’t it the cutest?  The flowers lift up, and the gift card pops up.  There is no extra charge for this cute gift card packaging either!

Amazon Box Gift Card

This gift card was also purchased for a birthday gift.  This one is always a favorite because the gift card comes in a tiny little Amazon box… so dang cute!  The flaps are magnetic, too, so they stay in place.  Again, there is no extra charge for the cute little packaging.

And that's it!  Happy Monday, y'all!

  2. You got some really cute things. I like the belt bag but I always think I need my water bottle and that won't fit in a belt bag! I don't order dance things for Gabbie anymore - she gets it all through her dance teacher and I have no idea how much it all is, lol. And I have no idea why binders are so expensive. I bought Zachary a new one and it cost more than the jeans I bought for Gabbie at the same time!

  3. Great finds as usual! I didn't put it on my PP post, but we ordered ballet gear for Grace for her class. It really felt funny ordering a leotard and tights, just like the old days. I'm sending her the link for the belt bag since I know she has wanted one. Thanks for linking up with Prime Purchases ~ Tanya @ The Other Side of the Road

  4. The scalp massagers sound amazing. My kids never get their shampoo scrubbed in well or scrubbed out well. I also want that spooky season sweatshirt. Definitely ordering both.
