What I Ordered from Amazon in April 2022

In April, I purchased quite a few things from Amazon, but hardly any of it was for myself… most of it wasn’t even for our family!  Haha.  But I found some pretty great stuff, so let’s dive right in…

Ruffled Top

Of all of the clothes I’ve purchased from Amazon, this top is right on up there in my handful of top favorites.  It. Is. So. Cute.  The fabric is 100% polyester, so it doesn’t shrink in the washer or dryer, and it’s light and swishy for summer.  The fabric is just the right thickness – not so thin that it’s see-through, but not so thick that it’s uncomfortable in the heat – and it is just darling on.  Several of the reviews mention that it runs small, but I stuck with my usual size (small) and I was glad I did because it fits me perfectly.

The quality is good – not top-notch, but not bad either… just standard quality – but it looks like something you’d buy from a boutique for $40+!!   And it was only $15 (although, now the price has gone up a little bit)!!  Birthday gift card money well spent!

It comes in lots of other colors and patterns if you don’t love this frilly pink version… I totally get it if you don’t.  I love it so much I’ll probably buy it in another color, too!

Strapless Bra

My strapless bra was about 15 years old, so I was long overdue for a new one, and I had no clue where to get one.  I used to be a Victoria’s Secret girl, but their bras are just so ridiculously expensive that I decided to try to find something a little more affordable.  I tried a couple of others from Target first, and I didn’t love them, so I thought I’d give one from Amazon a try.

This one ended up being the clear winner, so now I’m just hoping it holds up well over time.  It’s well-made so I think it will!  It’s also comfortable, it doesn’t slide down when I move around, it’s supportive, and it comes with removeable, convertible straps.  The straps can be worn regularly, as a halter, one shoulder (either side) or criss-crossed in the back.  I cannot recommend this bra enough!

Bar Cart

I’m the second-grade room mom this year for Olivia’s class, so I’m responsible (along with the other second grade room mom) for organizing a themed “basket” to auction off to raise money for the school.  Since our “stock the bar cart” theme was a success last year, we decided to go with the exact same theme again.  Therefore, I purchased several items this month that are going to be auctioned off for the school.

The first item I purchased for the class auction item was this bar cart.  If you’ve been following me for a while, then you may remember that I purchased this exact same bar cart last year for the school auction.  It’s soooo good that I couldn’t help but get it again!

This cart is on wheels so you can easily move it from place to place.  It has two shelves and a “basket” that hangs in between the two levels that’s perfect for holding glasses.  The very best part about this cart, though, is that it folds flat so you can put it away when it’s not in use.

Champagne Glasses

We are including champagne and champagne glasses on the bar cart, and I fell head over heels with these glasses because of their squared edges.  They are so sleek and so sophisticated and they’re going to look fantastic on the cart!

The Encyclopedia of Cocktails: Over 1,000 Cocktails for Every Occasion

We wanted to include a book of cocktail recipes for the cart, and instead of grabbing the same one I bought last year, I browsed a little bit to see if I could find anything different.  One of the top listings on Amazon was this encyclopedia of cocktails and I absolutely love it.  Most cocktail recipe books are small, but this one is a full-size 8x10 book, and it’s hardcover which is my favorite.  The format inside is excellent, and it does, indeed, have every single cocktail you could ever imagine.  I love this book so much I’m probably going to use some of my birthday gift card money to purchase a copy for our home.  Y’all know I love a good decorative book that also serves a purpose!

Copper Mugs

We’re also including all of the ingredients for Moscow Mules on the bar cart (Tito’s anyone?), so a set of good copper mugs was in order.  You can now find copper mugs pretty much anywhere – Target, TJ Maxx, Walmart, etc. – but those are usually no bueno because most of them are not 100% copper.

B and I have had this exact set of 100% pure copper mugs for years and years now and they have held up so well.  We use them at least once a week and they keep our drinks extra cold.  There’s nothing like an ice-cold Moscow Mule on a hot summer day!  So refreshing!

Letter Board with Lights

I also grabbed this letterboard to include on the cart to dress it up a little bit for bidders.  Last year, we put “It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere” on the board to display for the auction and it looked so cute!  This set includes the letter board with battery operated marquee lights and 340 letters, emojis, and cursive words, so there are tons of options for customization.  It’s such a cute board!

Kate Spade Book Tote

My BFF is a librarian (hiiii, Jeannine!), and when birthday gift shopping for her, I came across this Kate Spade book tote on the Dillard’s website.  I fell in love and thought it would be perfect for her, but Dillard’s has, quite possibly, the worst shipping rates I’ve ever seen (no free shipping unless you spend $150 – rolls eyes), so of course, I googled the bag to see if I could find it anywhere else.  Well, my friends, of course, it was on Amazon (is there anything they don’t have?!) – with free shipping – so I couldn’t grab it fast enough.

Silicone Wristlet Keychain

In addition to that, I also grabbed one of these silicone wristlet keychains for her because I pretty much gift them to everyone now.  It is seriously one of my favorite things I’ve ever bought for myself.  The wristlet is silicone, so it gives a bit, but it’s pretty much indestructible.  It fits perfectly on your wrist so you can keep your keys close while also keeping your hands free to hold your babies or groceries or books or whatever else it is that you may be carrying.  You can even attach a tiny wallet to it to hold your ID and credit card, and then you don’t even have to carry a purse.  I’ve been using mine for several years now and I cannot tell you how nice it is to not have to carry my keys anymore.

This one comes in 25 colors and patterns, and it would make the perfect gift for any friend, teacher, or family member.  Mother’s Day and Teacher Appreciation Week are both right around the corner, ya know…

Nike Kids Revolution Running Shoes

Olivia is growing like a weed, and we cannot keep shoes on her feet… her feet are already as big as Jacob’s!  She is really rough on shoes, and Nikes seem to be the only ones that hold up for her.  Right before Disney World she was in desperate need of new tennis shoes as hers were literally falling apart, so we went all over town looking for new ones, and we couldn’t find her size anywhere.

Naturally, I turned to the internet, and the only place that could get them to us fast enough (and for a good price) was Amazon.  Naturally.  Haha.  She chose these black ones, and she loves them.  She walked all over Disney World in them (nearly 30,000 steps for Jacob and her on our last day) and she never once complained about her feet hurting.

Kids No Show Socks

Here’s another thing about Olivia – she hates socks.  Despises them.  Would go barefoot in her tennis shoes every time if we would let her.  However, she’s required to wear socks as part of the uniform dress code at school, so she has no choice.  We have tried so many different kinds of socks only to have her complain and whine and it is exhausting.

Right before Disney World, she needed new socks because all of hers had disappeared… here’s another little tidbit about her – she never puts anything where it belongs, she misplaces everything, and she’s pretty much the messiest child I’ve ever seen (haha) – so we cannot keep socks in her drawer.  They’re always missing.

I bought this pack of 14 – yes, FOURTEEN PAIRS OF SOCKS – and she loves them!!  I realize that 14 pairs of socks is excessive for an eight year old girl, or anyone for that matter, but I guarantee half of them will be missing in about a month.  Haha.

Anyhoo, these socks are apparently the perfect thickness for her majesty (she hates super thick ones, but also doesn’t love paper thin ones), and they are all the same color which means she doesn’t have to worry about matching them when doing her laundry (especially since half of them are always missing).  These are Amazon Essentials brand so they’re very affordable, and the quality is top-notch.  We’ve started using more and more Amazon Essentials and Amazon Basics items, and we’ve never once been disappointed.  They always offer excellent quality for low prices.

The sizing is a little weird on them, though, and I didn’t quite understand it, so I ended up ordering the wrong size the first time.  I tried a medium the second time and it was just right.  She wears a size 2.5 in shoes right now, so if you’re looking for sizing advice, hopefully you’ll find this helpful.

Pop Tubes

These pop tubes were a last-minute purchase for the kids’ Easter baskets.  Olivia brought home one of these from the prize bin at school, and she and Jacob have been enamored with it ever since.  I thought it might be nice for Jacob to have his own, but unfortunately, I could only find them in a four pack, so I just stuck two in each of their baskets.

I’m going to go ahead and warn you, they are annoyingly loud, but they are really fun, and they’ve kept our kids’ attentions for weeks.  Good, inexpensive fun!

Flower Crown

Olivia is receiving her First Communion at the end of May, and we have opted to do a flower crown instead of a veil.  I searched high and low on Amazon and Etsy, and surprisingly, my favorite one ended up being this one on Amazon.  We received it already and it’s GORGEOUS, and I’m so pleased with our purchase.  It ties with ribbon at the back of the head, so it’s fully adjustable, so anyone of any age could wear it.

First Communion Card

First Communion cards are hard to find here locally as there aren’t very many Catholics in the south, so after struggling to find one here in town for Jacob a few years ago, I just decided to turn to my beloved Amazon.  Sure enough, they had a great selection, and this glittery one is right up Olivia’s alley.

First Communion Card #2

My BFF’s son is also receiving his First Communion with Olivia, so I grabbed this card for him.  Is it not the cutest thing?

Dentastix

And finally, Maui needed a refill on her evening treats, so I bought them from Amazon as they always have them for the best price.  We love Dentastix because just one a day reduces tartar buildup, cleans teeth, and freshens breath, and goodness, does she need that!  Haha.

Happy Monday, y’all!
