What I Ordered from Amazon in November 2023

As you can probably imagine, November was another heavy month for Amazon purchases.  In addition to regular Christmas shopping, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, I also put together a care package for Jacob’s teacher who has cancer, and I started shopping for class auction baskets for our fundraiser, so settle in, friends… it’s a lot!

Amazon Child-Friendly Echo

Jacob and Olivia both asked to have Alexa in their bedrooms, so we bought the kid-friendly versions on Black Friday as they were half-off.  The kid-friendly versions are designed specifically for kids – kids can ask Alexa to play music, read bedtime stories, get help with their homework, etc.  Each one comes with one free year of Amazon Kids+ where kids can listen to Audible books, play interactive games, and much, much more.  The best part about these is that they have built-in easy-to-use parental controls.  Alexa automatically gives kid-friendly responses to all inquiries, and she filters explicit songs.  Parents have access to each device right from their phones, so you can monitor and control everything from afar.  We bought this owl version for Olivia and the dragon for Jacob.

Barefoot Dreams Cozy Socks

This was a purchase for Jacob’s teacher’s care package.  We wanted to put together a bunch of cozy items that she can use during her treatments, and these Barefoot Dreams socks are soft, cozy, and luxurious.  We also bought this pair in another color

Blanket of Encouragement

This was another purchase for Jacob’s teacher.  This blanket is made of faux fur and sherpa for ultimate warmth and coziness, and it’s sprinkled with encouraging words and phrases.  It comes in 12 different colors and four different sizes, and it’s perfect for someone who is going through a battle with cancer.

Days of the Week Pill Pack

I take four different supplements each day and I wanted to have a way to organize them easily without having to bring all four big bottles.  This days of the week pill pack is large enough to hold all 6 capsules per day with extra room to spare, and it’s rainbow, which is my favorite.  ;o)

External Charger

I bought this charger for New York City, and I wanted to love it, but I didn't.  I don't know if the one I bought was faulty or what, but every time I tried to use it, the device would turn itself off after about 2-3 minutes and I had to keep pulling it out and putting it back in to get it to start again.  The connection always seemed finicky, too, and I found that if I held it tightly together, it would charge most of the time, but sometimes it would still turn off.  The times that it did charge, it charged pretty slowly, and the charger depleted faster than it charged my phone, so there's no way it would even charge a phone fully one single time.  Bottom line, I do not recommend this one at all, but again, I'm thinking the one I got must have been faulty since so many other people love it!

Women’s Underwear

We purchase needed items for our church’s outreach center each year for Christmas, and this was one of the items I purchased.  I feel like the kids’ toys and clothing are always purchased first (people want the fun items), and the truly needed items for men and women are often not purchased, so I wanted to purchase some of the items that nobody else seemed to be getting.

2024 Calendar

I have a calendar hanging on my bulletin board over my desk at all times, and it’s time to buy one for 2024 since it’s approaching rapidly.  This one is pretty, and it was very inexpensive, so I grabbed it.

Men’s Jeans

This was another purchase for our church’s outreach center for those in need.  Again, there were many items like this left on the wish list when I looked, so I wanted to buy something that not many other people were purchasing.  These are only $12, y'all!

CD Player

Our kiddos are old-school and they listen to CDs since they don’t have phones yet, and Jacob is in need of a new one since his is about 16 years old.  This one is awesome, and it not only plays CDs, but it connects to Bluetooth so you can play music from any electronic device such as a phone, etc.  That way, when he eventually gets a phone, he’ll be able to listen to music using this speaker.  It also has an FM radio tuner which Jacob wanted because he likes to listen to one of the local music stations sometimes in his room.

Strength for Each Day Devotional by Joyce Meyer

I have been doing this devotional all year and I LOVE it, so I thought it would be fitting to gift a copy to Jacob’s teacher who is currently battling cancer.  This was one of the items that we included in her care package.

Smarty Pants Women’s Multi-Vitamins

I’ve talked about these for years – I take them every single day – and it was time for a refill.

Laneige Lip Mask

I have been struggling with chapped lips since I got my braces in February, and now that the weather has turned cold, it has gotten even worse.  My regular Chapstick isn’t quite cutting it anymore, so I broke down and bought the ever-popular Laneige Lip Mask to wear each night while I sleep.  Thankfully, I was able to snag it on Black Friday for a huge discount, because it’s quite pricey otherwise.  I’ve only used it once as I type this, so I’ll have to report back after I’ve been using it for a while.  One thing I do love about it is that it comes with a little wand that has its own little sheath, so there’s a sanitary way to apply it.  The thought of sticking my fingers in the tub each night grosses me out.  #Germaphobe

Bar Cart

This was a purchase for the seventh-grade auction basket that I’m putting together for our school auction, and I was STOKED to get it on major sale for Black Friday!!  I bought this exact cart last year and it is so nice, so it was even better to get it for such a great deal!  That leaves more money for me to spend on other items!

Dentastix

Maui gets one of these each evening for a treat and it was time for a refill.  We love these because they help cut back on tartar and freshen breath.

HedBanz Game

This was another purchase for our church’s outreach center for Christmas.  After buying a couple of practical items, I wanted to buy a couple of fun ones, too.  ;o)

Working Hands Cream

My hands are super dry year-round, but this time of year when it gets cold, they start to get cracked and sometimes bleed, probably because I wash them so much since I’m a germaphobe.  ;o)  I’ve tried several lotions that work okay, but I saw this on Black Friday and decided to grab it since it went on super sale.  It has 4.8 / 5 stars with over 35,000 reviews and everyone just RAVES about it.  Again, I’ve only used it a couple of times, but I’ll be sure to report back once I’ve used it for a while.  After the first couple of uses, it seemed to make a huge difference.  I love that it’s odorless and not greasy, too.

Bead Kit

This was another purchase for our church’s outreach center.  I did two practical ones and two fun ones.  ;o)

Kuromi Robe

Olivia’s friend is obsessed with Kuromi (one of the characters from the Hello Kitty line), and the obsession has rubbed off on Olivia.  Olivia saw this robe online a while back and she has been begging for it.  The only problem is that it only comes in women’s sizes (which I find really odd).  It is the #1 thing on her list, though, so we went ahead and bought the women’s small and – LOL, y’all – it is going to swallow her whole!  I think it’s going to hit right at the ground, so really it should technically fit, and we’ll just have to roll up the sleeves for her.  I’m picturing her looking like a queen with a thick robe that drags the ground behind her.  Lol.

Fleece Lined Tights

Okay y’all, WHERE OH WHERE HAVE THESE BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!  These are technically leggings, because they have a layer of fleece inside that keeps your legs soooo warm, but because they’re thin-ish and they have a layer of black pantyhose fabric over the skin-colored fleece, they give the illusion that you’re just wearing plain black tights.  I bought these for our trip to New York City and they are just awesome.  I cannot believe how warm they are.

Amazon Smart Lightbulb

Since we are being forced to convert all of our home incandescent bulbs to LED (which I hate) we decided to try out one of these Amazon Smart Lightbulbs as you can adjust the temperature and brightness.  We only bought one to try since it was on sale for $4.99 on Black Friday, and we’re going to test it out in one of our lamps to see if I can get the color/warmth/brightness that I like.  They can also be connected to your phone just like the Smart Plugs so you can turn your devices on and off from your phone and with voice command.  I’ll report back once we get it set up.

Bruh T-shirt

I bought this t-shirt for Jacob for Christmas because – BRUH.

Bruh Christmas T-Shirt

This was also a purchase for Jacob… the kids are usually allowed to wear a Christmas tee during the last week for school, and Jacob needed a new one.  Couldn’t resist this one!

Happy Monday, y’all!

  1. The kids' Alexas are so smart! The calendar you got is the same one I have for this year and I'll need to be ordering a new one for 2024 too. Annoying about the charger - I was considering one of those because I have a big one that needs a wire connection!

  5. That's too bad about the charger. Michael has one and doesn't have problems, but not sure if it is a different brand or seller. The kids' echo is such a great idea! Thanks for linking up with Prime Purchases!
