What I Ordered from Amazon in September 2022

Today’s Amazon post has a theme, and that theme is fall and Halloween!  Halloween prep is fully underway in our house, and we’re pretty much ready for the big day even though it’s still nearly a month away!  Ready to see what we bought?  Settle in, friends, I have some great ideas for y’all if you’re still prepping!

Designer Apple Watch Band

Designer Apple Watch bands are all the rage right now, these striped and embellished ones in particular, but instead of paying $40-$50 for an original, I found these similar ones on Amazon for less than $10!  The original price is $11.98 each, but right now there is a coupon that you can clip to receive 20% off!  These watch bands are great quality, and the bee embellishments are interchangeable.  You just pop them off and and pop them back on as you like.  There are many different colorways for the watch bands, and a few different metal colors for the bee embellishments including gold, silver, and rose gold.  I needed a good option to wear for Georgia game days, so I opted for this red, white, and black band.  It is gorgeous in person!

Dorothy Costume

Olivia has been covering The Wizard of Oz in her Musical Theater class, and she decided that she wants to be Dorothy for Halloween this year!  Considering she has wanted to be something “creepy” for the last couple of years, I was thrilled that she decided to go the sweet, fun route this year.  Believe it or not, we couldn’t find a Dorothy costume at Spirit Halloween this year, and although we were able to find one at Target, it was glittery and verrrry itchy, and Olivia didn’t like it.  Naturally, the first placed I turned to find an authentic-looking costume was Amazon, and friends, they had the perfect one!  This costume is absolutely darling, it fits Olivia beautifully, and she LOVES it.  We bought a small and a medium, and the medium ended up fitting her perfectly with a small bit of growing room.  She could have gotten away with the small, too, but it would have been much shorter.  She is looking forward to wearing it to school and to trick-or-treat, and we can’t wait to see her in it!

Ruby Red Slippers

What’s a Dorothy costume without the ruby red slippers?  When hunting for red shoes, I first decided that I’d try to find a pair of cheap Mary Janes and spray paint them red, but I couldn’t find a good pair of flats that had a strap that didn’t cost an arm and a leg.  It actually came out cheaper to just buy these outright instead of making my own.  Y’all, these shoes are FANASTIC quality.  I have a love/hate relationship with girls’ Mary Janes because they are so dang cute, but 95% of them are SO stiff and uncomfortable and they always slip off of Olivia’s heels.  I just knew these were going to be awful, but I was wrong!  They are so soft, so well-made, and so comfortable on Olivia’s feet.  They are gorgeous in person, and Olivia loves them so much that I’m sure she’ll wear them for church and other dress-up events during the holidays.  That definitely helped me justify spending that much money for what I thought was going to end up being more of a one-time use novelty item.  I bought a size 3 in big kids for Olivia, and they fit well with about a centimeter of growing room.  They don’t slip drastically on her heels, though, because the strap holds them in place very well.

Halloween Nightgown

I used to buy each of the kids a new pair of Halloween PJs every year when they were little, and their Halloween PJs always got a ton of use.  In recent years, I stopped, though, because they were rarely wearing them since pretty much all Halloween PJs consist of long-sleeve shirts and pants.  Neither of our kiddos like wearing long-sleeves or pants to sleep in, and I don’t blame them!  I mean, we live in the south, so it’s rarely cold by Halloween anyway.  Since Old Navy, Target, Carter’s, and several other stores don’t offer Halloween PJs in shorts and nightgowns form, I decided to search Amazon to see what they had.  Sure enough, they had exactly what I was looking for!!  Olivia is totally into short-sleeve nightgowns right now and they’re pretty much all she wears.  Amazon for the win!!  This nightgown is SO soft, it’s lightweight, and she is obsessed with it.  She has slept in it every single night since I bought it.  She is very sensitive to certain fabrics and seams and “itchy” stuff, so the fact that she’s actually wearing this lets me know that it’s very comfortable.  We bought the girls size 10 for her and it is very long, so she’ll be able to wear it for years to come!  It comes in many other patterns for other holidays, too!

Halloween PJs

Jacob only likes loose fitting PJs with shorts and short-sleeves, so I found this set for him and he loves them.  Or at least I think he does… he could just be humoring me.  Hahahaha.  I have a feeling this could be the last pair of Halloween PJs I’ll ever buy for him, though, because he’s growing up.  *Tear*  Unless, of course, he just wants to be festive forever like his Momma!  ;o)

Red, Black, and White Dress

We realized at the last minute that Olivia needed a dress for the Georgia game that we attended at the beginning of September, so I ordered this one from Amazon because I knew it would get here on time.  It is such a sweet little dress, and it has pockets, y’all!  She’s already worn it several times and she loves it… it’s very soft!  It comes in three other colorways, too.

Viral Women’s Dress

I already mentioned this dress on the blog in my Five on Friday post, but here it is again!  I’ve had this dress in my wish list foreverrrr and I finally bought it in red when it was on sale to wear to football games and also for Christmas.  This dress is every bit as good as all of the influencers have said!  It’s well-made, the fabric is thick, the puffy sleeves are perfection, and the tie in the front allows you to adjust the fit of the dress according to your size and comfort level.  It is SUCH a flattering dress and I highly recommend it.  I do recommend sizing up one size, though, as the length is a little short.  The medium is perfect for me!

Battery Operated Candles

These candles are my new favorite thing!!!!  If you’ve watched my Instagram stories these last few weeks, then you’ve probably seen them, but for those of you who haven’t, you should totally go and pull up my “Favorites” highlight and see them in action.  I wasn’t totally happy with my fall mantle last year and I knew I wanted to add something to change it up a bit this year, so I opted for these candlesticks, and they were exactly what the mantle needed.  These candlesticks are battery-operated so there is no actual fire used, and that means that you can place them anywhere without having to worry about little kids getting into them or catching something on fire.  The candles are made of real wax, though, so they look authentic, and the battery-operated flames dance just like real flames… I don’t know how on earth they made them look so realistic, but they did.  They are incredible.  The candles also come with a remote control, so you can turn them on and off with the click of a button, and you can also customize some of the settings – you can adjust how bright/dim they are, and you can also opt to have the candles flicker or provide solid steady light.  There is also a 2, 4, 6, and 8 hour timer, so you can set them to turn off automatically.  They look gorgeous with my fall décor, and they’re going to be even better with my Halloween décor!!  Right now, they’re 43% off, so be sure to grab them while they’re on sale if you’re interested!  And don’t forget the candlestick holders below!

Candlestick Holders

These black candlestick holders are excellent quality, they’re sleek, and they look fantastic with my battery-operated candlesticks.  They hold any standard taper candle, though, so you’re not limited to using them with those.

Paper Straws

We were out of my favorite black and white paper straws, so it was time for a refill!  The price has gone up on these since I purchased them, though!

Lego Halloween Set

Our kiddos are Lego fanatics, and they love to collect all of the Lego Brickheadz holiday sets.  I typically give them the new Halloween set each year at our spooky dinner on Halloween night, and I can’t wait for them to see this year’s set – a spooky owl with a couple of pumpkins!  If you’re looking for something small to give to your kiddos besides candy (they will get plenty during trick-or-treating!), this makes a great, affordable gift!

1,000-Piece Fall Puzzle

We love doing puzzles in the fall and winter when we’re not able to get outside as much, so I’ve slowly been adding puzzles to our collection these last couple of years.  Last year, I bought a Christmas puzzle to add to our collection, and last week, I grabbed this fall puzzle to add to our collection.  We’ll be starting on it once we finish the Friends puzzle that we recently started working on again, and I’m ready for it and all of its fall goodness!  It is so beautiful!

Melissa & Doug No-Sew Quilt

My parents bought this no-sew quilt for Olivia for Christmas, and she has enjoyed putting it together.  Rather than sewing, you tie the pieces together to make the quilt, so Olivia is able to do it without assistance.  It has been the perfect craft for her!  She had a birthday party to attend for a friend a couple of weekends ago, so we bought this quilt for her friend as a birthday gift.  All of the girls went crazy over it at the party, so we’re calling this one a big win!  It’s been 43% off for quite sometime now, so if you’re interested, this would be a great time to buy!  It would make a great holiday gift!

Avery Extra Wide Dividers

I’m currently organizing all of my recipes, and I bought these tabs to use in the binder I’m creating.  I loved this particular set because they are extra wide, so the tabs don’t disappear between the pages when you use sheet protectors.

Thank you Notes

I send a thank you note with every Poshmark shipment I mail out, and I recently ran out of cards, so I ordered this pack of Amazon Basics cards.  These cards are beautiful, they come in three different designs, and you can a ton of them for an excellent price.  Lots of bang for your buck with these!

Amazon Basics Ergonomic Wireless Mouse

My mouse started going crazy last week and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it, so I ordered this one to replace the old one.  It has 14,000+ reviews and 4.4 / 5 stars, so I figured it was a safe option.  You also can’t beat that price either – it’s just $9.34!

Georgia Car Plate

A couple of weeks ago, Brian noticed that the Georgia plate I have on the front of my vehicle was broken.  We have no clue how it happened, but our guess is that a rock or something else hit it and a piece broke off.  The one I had was about 11 or 12 years old so it had a good run!  Most red Georgia plates are made with that mirrored looking plastic, and I’m not a huge fan of that look, so I was excited to find this solid red one on Amazon.  It’s made of acrylic like my old one, so fingers crossed it’ll last another 11-12 years like the old one did!

Gold Bond Neck & Chest Firming Cream

I purchased my first tube of this neck and chest firming cream after Tanya recommended it, and I love it so much that it was time to purchase tube #2.  This stuff does exactly what it says – it smooths and firms skin on the neck and chest, and I can definitely see the difference if I go a few days without using it.  I’ve never been good about wearing sunscreen daily on my neck and chest area, and I’ve also never been good about moisturizing that area either, so the skin on my neck and chest looks older than the rest of my skin.  This cream definitely helps with that, and a little bit goes a long way.  I typically use an amount about the size of a pea one time each morning after my shower and it keeps that area feeling moisturized and smooth for the full 24 hours until I shower again the next morning.

Smarty Pants Women’s Daily Multi-Vitamin

I’ve talked about these vitamins a gajillion times on the blog because I’ve been taking them daily for years and it was time for a refill!  I love these because they contain so many nutrients that other multi-vitamins don’t contain, and they’re clean… they don’t contain a bunch of the junky additives that some other multi-vitamins contain!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

I’ve been using this Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel as the moisturizer for my face each morning for a couple of years now and it was time for a refill.  I love this entire line from Neutrogena!

Laundry Pen

My Mama Cass was telling me the other day that she hasn’t been able to find laundry pens at the store lately, so I bought this one for her from Amazon.

Amazon Gift Card in Silver Packaging

This gift card was purchased to accompany a wedding gift that I sent to a friend who’s getting married in October.

Amazon Gift Card in an Amazon Envelope Tin

This gift card was purchased for a birthday gift.  I love all of Amazon’s clever little gift card packages!  This tin looks like the Amazon envelopes that deliver to your mailbox.  They also have a miniature Amazon shipping box gift card package, too… it is darling!

Happy Monday, y’all!
