What I Ordered from Amazon in June 2023

June was a heavy month for Amazon orders, but several items were returned, and many items were gifts for others.  Let’s get to it!

Star Mug

Andrea at Momfessionals shared this mug a couple of weeks ago, and I had to have one!  I am a big tea drinker – I drink at least two cups per day, sometimes more – and I also enjoy a cup of coffee every now and then, too.  I started collecting mugs years ago, and holiday mugs are my favorites, but I’ve never found a good 4th of July mug until she posted about this one.  It’s a bit pricey (even on sale), but it was worth every penny because the quality is excellent and the mug is gorgeous.  These Emma Bridgewater mugs are handcrafted in England, too!  I also like the size because it’s perfect for a cup of tea.  Some of my mugs (especially my Rae Dunn mugs) are too large for tea-drinking, but this one is just right.  It’s also dishwasher and microwave safe, and the handle doesn’t get hot in the microwave like so many do.  If you’re looking for a beautiful, hand-crafted mug this one is a great choice!

Beautiful Word NIV Journaling Bible (Floral)

As most of you know from Instagram and the blog, I’ve been on the hunt for a new Bible (a journaling version), and I’m planning to start The Bible Recap soon.  I purchased four different Bibles last month in hopes that I could find the perfect one, and y’all, I’m still struggling!  I thought I had settled on this one, but I think I’ve decided that I don’t want one with too much artwork in it because I want to be able to take my own notes and make my own artwork.  The artwork in this one is just gorgeous, but I’m worried it won’t leave enough room for me to do my own thing, so I ended up returning it.  I do love everything about it, though.  The pages are crisp white which I love, the artwork is gorgeous, the columns are lined, and it comes with Bible tabs.  I do love this floral cover, too, but I am worried it will eventually look dated as all patterns eventually do.  This one was (reluctantly) returned.

Beautiful Word NIV Journaling Bible (Gold)

This one is identical to the one above in every single way except for the cover is different.  I had hoped that I might like the cover on this one more than the one above, but I preferred the first one.

She Reads Truth CSB Journaling Bible

Okay, I love this Bible SO MUCH.  I love that the cover is faux leather and that it’s pink (pink has been my favorite color since I was old enough to know my colors, so I don’t think that will ever change) and I love that the pages are trimmed in gold like so many traditional Bibles.  The Bible is stunning inside – it does contain artwork, but only at the beginnings of each of the books rather than in the columns, so it leaves the columns free to do your own journaling/notetaking/artwork.  It has beautiful crisp, white pages, too.  However, I decided that I wanted the NIV translation rather than the CSB, and this Bible doesn’t come in an NIV version.  I also haaaate that the columns don’t have lines.  Whyyyy?!  I need lines for journaling!  That was the deal-breaker for me.  Finally, while I do think the built-in indented Bible tabs for each of the books are beautiful, I prefer tabs that stick out, so I wasn’t a fan of that either.  Overall, this Bible is really great, but it was lacking a couple of things that are really important to me (the translation and the lines) so I returned it.

Journal the Word NIV Bible

Okay, y’all, this Bible has every single thing that I need… except for one thing.  Sigh.  For starters, I love that this Bible has a traditional (faux) leather cover with a cross on the front.  It’s timeless.  Second of all, I love that the columns have lines and that they don’t contain any artwork.  As much as I love all of the gorgeous artwork in the other ones above, I really do think I’d rather have the space to make my own.  The Bible doesn’t contain indented tabs, so I will be able to add my own (keep reading, I found some that are stunning), so this Bible is almost perfect.  The one thing that is lacking from it?  The paper.  It’s cream.  Y’all!!  Whyyyy??  If this Bible had white paper, it would have been absolutely perfect.  Sigh.  I do love every single other thing about it, though, so I think this is the one I’m going to keep.  I just really wish they would make it with white paper.  The cream paper just looks dingy to me.

The Bible Recap

As I said before, I’m hoping to start reading the Bible from cover to cover soon, and I’m hoping that this book, The Bible Recap by Tara-Leigh Cobble, lives up to the hype!  I’ve heard so many great things about it!  The Bible Recap is designed to get you through the entire Bible in one year.  It tells you which books/chapters/verses to read every single day for 365 days, and then after you read the Bible reading for the day, you read the two-page recap from your book.  The book is very straightforward and organized, and it gives you a nice and tidy two-page spread for each day.  Instead of starting on January 1, it starts on “Day 1” so you can start any day of the year, too!  I’m hoping to start this month, so I’ll let y’all know how I like it!

Bible Pens

I bought this set of pens because they were highly recommended to use on thin Bible paper.  I haven’t used them yet, but I’m excited to try them and report back!

Bible Highlighters

These Bible highlighters were also highly rated on Amazon, so I grabbed them to use for my studies as well.  Again, I haven’t personally tried them yet, but I’ll have to report back after I do.

Bible Tabs

I wanted some Bible tabs that are pretty, but I didn’t want anything too trendy that will eventually look outdated.  I ended up coming across these, and they are STUNNING.  Again, pink has been my favorite color my whole life, so I’ll never grow tired of the colors, and the gold embossing is classic.  I also love the the full names of the books are on each of the tabs, and I loooove that the font sizes are the same on every tab… I’ve never been a fan of using different sized fonts to fill the spaces equally.

Green Top

This top that’s been on my wish list for months happened to go on a lightning deal earlier this month, and the price was so great that I decided to grab one.  I’m so glad I did because I could not love it more!!  The quality is good, the top fits perfectly (it’s true to size… I’m in a small), and the colors are rich and beautiful.  The sleeves can be worn on the shoulder or off the shoulder, and either way, I do wear a strapless bra with it.  Otherwise, my bra straps show slightly in the front.  For the first time wearing it, I paired it with my beloved white Spanx jeans for church last weekend, and the combo is just perfect for summertime!  It would also look great with a skirt or cutoff jean shorts.  It comes in tons of different colors and patterns, and there are loads of long-sleeve options as well.  I already have a brown floral short-sleeve version and a purple floral long-sleeve version on my wish list for fall!

Workout Skirt

I also grabbed a workout skirt to change things up from my usual shorts and this one is SO nice.  The quality is top-notch, and many of the reviews compare it to one of the Lulu brand skirts.  It has built-in shorts along with a back zipper pocket, and it comes in tons and tons of colors.  It’s comfortable and cool and it’s such a fun addition to my athletic wear since I workout so often.

Snack Bag

Every time we travel, we bring a bag of snacks for the trip.  In the past, I’ve always used a gallon Ziploc bag because I like to be able to see everything we have in a clear bag.  After years of using Ziploc bags, I finally decided to get this cute clear pouch for future trips so we can have something a little more sturdy, and something that’s also reuseable so we don’t have to keep wasting Ziploc bags.  The pouch is just DARLING and it comes in a bunch of different colors.  It’s also very sturdy and very large, and the whole thing is excellent quality.  It has a nice, smooth zipper, and a removeable wrist strap for easy carrying as well.  It’s currently on sale, too!

Foundation Refill

This has been my foundation of choice for the last few months, and I’m still loving it.  The coverage is excellent, it doesn’t feel too heavy, and it has a smaller price tag than most other brands.

Waterpik

As you all know, I had braces put on my teeth earlier this year, and I’ve been struggling with plaque building up around the brackets on my bottom teeth since then.  I have been flossing and brushing and using mouthwash consistently obsessively since the braces were put on, but no matter how thorough and frequent I am with my flossings and brushings, the plaque is still building.  My orthodontist told me some people are just more prone to it than others, and he suggested that I purchase a Waterpik to help with the issue.  While the Waterpik hasn’t seemed to help much with the current buildup, I have noticed that I haven’t had any new buildup occurring since I’ve started using it, so I think it’s working.  This Waterpik has rave reviews on Amazon and the price was good for the quality.  It was super easy to set up and use, and my teeth do feel cleaner over all, so I highly recommend this if you want to take your dental care up a notch!  Now I’m just counting down the days until my dental cleaning in July so I can start over with clean teeth.  My ortho has been removing some of it at each of my visits, but I don’t think it’ll be completely removed until my actual dental cleaning.

Colgate Plaque Pro Release Toothpaste

I also came across this toothpaste, and it claims to dissolve plaque buildup, so I decided to try it, too.  It says you will start to see results after two weeks of consistent use, but I’ve only been using it for a week, so I can’t tell if it’s working yet or not.  I’ll have to report back!

Lego Disney Up House

This Lego Up House is on Jacob’s birthday wish list, so I went ahead and purchased it a bit early.  Isn't it darling?!

Lego Creator 3-in-1 Set

This was a purchase for my nephew for his birthday.

Lego Creator 3-in-1 Set

This was another purchase for my nephew.

Reuseable Water Balloons

These have been all over social media and blogs all summer, so I decided to grab some for our kiddos to see what the hype was all about.  Y’all, these are SO MUCH FUN!!  They are super easy to fill in a bucket of water or body of water (the pool, a lake, the ocean, etc.), and they close with magnets all the way around.  All you have to do is drop them in the water, and they fill and close by themselves.  It’s suuuuper easy… much easier than filling traditional water balloons!  And the entire thing is super soft (even the magnetic edges) so you can throw them at people like traditional water balloons and they don’t hurt.  Our kids have been loving them.

Smarty Pants Women’s Multi Vitamins

I’ve been taking these vitamins daily for years, and it was time for a refill!

Dentastix

We give one of these to Maui every evening as a treat, and it doubles as a breath freshener/teeth cleaner for her.  It was time for another refill!

Happy Monday!

  1. I know just what you mean about the Bibles. I had to search for a long time with something that had most of the things I wanted...it was the She Reads Truth. I'm opposite of you though...I didn't want lines in the side column. Emma Bridgewater dishes and mugs are SOOO popular in the UK. I have quite a few of the mugs and love them. They are the perfect size for me since I usually just have a small cup of coffee! Happy 4th and thanks for linking up with Prime Purchases!

    1. I did consider keeping that one! It was just gorgeous! The only thing I didn't like was that it didn't have lines in the columns.

  4. You will love the Bible Recap. It's nice b/c you don't HAVE to do it everyday, just pick up where you left off. I am to a point now, though, that I listen to the passage in my bible app (sometimes reading along) and then listen to Tara Leigh's podcast rather than reading the Recap. Often I find myself going to my Bible and making notes during the podcast. Just thought I'd throw that out there if you are looking for options. Also, you can sign up for the Bible Recap plan on the Bible app and it will keep you on track :)
I agree with you on the cream pages in your new Bible - it probably wouldn't be a "no deal" for me if everything else was perfect, just what a bummer. You'll get used to it though :)

    1. Thanks for the tips! I will definitely check out the podcast, too! And I'll be sure to sign up for the Bible Recap plan on the Bible app, too. But yes, why cream?! Such a bummer! Haha. But like you said, I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually!

  5. I did the bible recap in 2020 and liked it a lot. Then I tried to do it again and struggled bc it is just a repeat, you know? However, I've had my eye on the Spiral Bible. I know what you mean: I need something I can easily read, write in, and hold open! https://spiralbible.com/collections/asv-new-testament/products/spiral-bible%E2%84%A2-asv-new-testament-red-floral
