Five on Friday - August Goals

Today I’m recapping my July goals and listing my August goals.  As always, I’m using a Y for YES and N for NO to indicate whether or not I accomplished my goals.  July was a DOOZY as I had vertigo for most of it, so there were a lot of things that just couldn't get done this month.

July Goals

Relationships

Y  Go on 2 dates with Brian. – We went to a brewery with a ton of friends and then went to the Dave Matthews Band concert in Atlanta.

Y  Visit the new brewery with friends.

Y  Go to dinner/do something fun with my girls. – We ate dinner together and made flower arrangements in my friend, Jessica’s, garden.

N  Have a poker night with friends. – We ended up doing this August 4, so it technically didn’t happen in July.

Y  Soak up the last month of summer with Jacob and Olivia. – Well, this was a tough one… due to my vertigo the last four weeks, I was pretty much a zombie the whole time.  It was not enjoyable, and it was hard to "soak up" anything.  However, I really tried my best to keep living through the vertigo, and we managed to squeeze in some fun things, so I'm calling it a win.

Personal/Health/Wellness/Fitness/Beauty

Y  Meditate, quiet time, and affirmations every day.

Y  Drink 64 oz. water most days.

N  Close all rings on my Apple Watch 24 days. – One word.  Vertigo.  Sigh.

N  Aim to average 10,000/steps per day. – Again, vertigo.

Y  Visit with my therapist.

N  Go to my six month breast ultrasound follow-up. – Had to move this to August due to my vertigo… I had to schedule a vertigo appointment in its place because it was the only time they could get me in.

N  Continue journaling. – Journaling was impossible with vertigo.

Y  Start The Bible Recap. – Well, I started the night before I got vertigo, and then I had to stop because reading has been really hard with all of this dizziness.

N  Create a perfume roller from oils.

N  Read 3 books. – I only read one because… vertigo.

Family/Fun

Y  Attend my friend’s daughter’s baptism.

Y  Host a 4th of July party at our house.

Y  Celebrate Jacob’s 12th birthday!

Y  Kids go to music camp for a week.

Y  Dentist checkups for the three of us.

Y  See Dave Matthews Band in Atlanta!

Y  Attend Olivia’s friend’s birthday party.

Y  Olivia write another letter to her beach pen pal.

Y  Kids finish summer homework.

N  Go to the pool (assuming it gets cleaned). – It stayed green, and I had vertigo and couldn't be in the sun much because it makes my dizziness so much worse.

Y  Have more playdates.

Y  Try a new restaurant in town. – We tried a new BBQ place by the new brewery.

Y  Make a fun summer treat. – We made rice crispy treats.

Y  Plant sunflowers… again.

N  Ride bikes. – Nope.  It has been blazing hot and I’ve had vertigo so I can’t be out in the heat too much.

Home/Organization/Planning

Y  Put tabs on my Bible pages.

Y  Plan and purchase everything for Jacob’s birthday.

Y  Plan and purchase everything needed for back to school.

N  Try to find a pressure washer and pressure wash the driveway and sidewalk.

N  Put a new strand of lights on the tree in the living room.

N  Clean out closet under stairs.

N  Clean out kids’ bathroom.

N  Wash car.

N  List all spring/summer clothes on Poshmark.

N  Complete 1 task on Master To Do List.

Blog/Social Media

Y  Post on the blog 3 times per week.

Y  Share at least 1 Reel on Instagram.

Y  Continue filling in Ode to 2023 blog post as the year progresses.

Y  Share Amazon Prime Day deals.

Y  Plan blog content for August and September.

    1. Thank you! Unfortunately, I'm still having issues, but I'm grateful that most of it has subsided. I'm hoping this new PT will get me back to 100%!
