What I Ordered from Amazon in August 2025

Hey, y’all!  Happy Tuesday!  I’m back today with an Amazon post, and I have some really random stuff today.  Nearly every item was purchased for someone else for a specific purpose, so it’s quite a hodgepodge.  Here’s what I purchased in the month of August…

Heart Hands Book Ends

I recently started collecting vinyl, but I don’t have a lot of it yet, so I couldn’t get them to stay upright on my shelf.  I decided to grab some bookends to hold them up, and I wanted them to be music themed.  While I was searching, these heart hands came up, and I knew immediately those were the ones!  These are beautiful, they’re heavy, and they work beautifully to hold my records in place.  They would make a great gift for any Swiftie!

Fall / Halloween Puzzle

I realized the other day that while we have a fall puzzle, we don’t have a Halloween puzzle, so I grabbed this one and I wanted to share it because it’s soooo cute.  It’s such a fun scene (I love that it’s a good mix between fall and Halloween and that’s it’s not too over the top Halloween-y), the ghosts are precious, and y’all, the gold foil accents are on the actual puzzle pieces!  It is SO beautiful and so unique and we’re looking forward to starting it over the long weekend.

Electric Kettle

This was a purchase for a wedding shower that we were invited to this past month.  The bride had this electric tea kettle on her list, and it looks amazing!  It has five precise temperature presets, and there is also a “hold temp” function to keep the contents warm for up to one hour.  I have never seen an electric tea kettle before and I really think it’s so unique.  While I can’t speak to the quality of this one since I don’t have one, it does have 4.6 / 5 stars with over 18,000 reviews, so it must be good.  It comes in two different shades of black and there is also a silver version, which I love.

Bandana Tablecloth

Our school is having a big tailgate party this Friday before the home varsity football game, and the theme is “Rodeo.”  Each grade has to decorate a table and provide food, so I grabbed this tablecloth for the middle school table that I’m helping put together.

One-Minute Prayers for Those with Cancer

One of our neighbors recently stopped me while I was on one of my many sunset walks to tell me he just found out that he has prostate cancer.  He is obviously so worried / scared / sad / all the things, and he asked me to pray for him.  He is going to have his prostate removed in October, and he doesn’t know what things will look like after that as he doesn’t yet know if the cancer has spread.  I decided to put a little care basket together for him as he lives alone – his wife passed from breast cancer, and his kids are grown and no longer living at home.  I bought this book for him and the cover is beautiful – it’s faux leather and the words and leaves are all engraved.  It’s small so he will be able to carry it with him anywhere, and the entries are beautiful… I have already thumbed through it and read many of them.  Each entry provides encouragement rooted in faith as well as a prayer to open your heart to finding peace and understanding in even the worst of situations.  I hope none of you ever have to purchase this book, but I thought I would share it in case you know anyone who is walking this awful road.

Locker Rug

You can add this item to things I never thought I’d buy, but here we are. I guess I shouldn’t have ruled it out with a middle school aged daughter.  Haha.  All of the girls love to decorate their lockers in middle school, so Olivia and I purchased a set with an organizer, a mirror, a dry erase board, and some cute magnets at the beginning of the school year.  On orientation day, Olivia and all of her friends decided that they needed rugs for their lockers to dress them up even more, so here we are.  Haha.  This one is super cute, and it comes in a few different colors.  I also appreciate that the price wasn’t ridiculous since it was a completely unnecessary item (yet also necessary if you’re a middle school girl apparently).  Hahahaha.

Excellent Basic Tee with a Little Bit of Flair

I’ve already mentioned this top a couple of times here on the blog, and I love it so much that I bought it in a couple more colors this month because it went on SUPER sale for just $8.49!  The quality is great for the price, it doesn’t wrinkle or shrink, and the ruffles on the sleeves stay set in place through washing and drying.  Some of my ruffled sleeved shirts are a pain because I have to air dry them and lay them out perfectly with the sleeves pressed down and out to make sure they hold their shape.  Not for this shirt!  It comes in a ton of other colors and it’s true to size… I ordered a small and I like that it’s somewhat fitted, but not skintight. This is the perfect top to wear if you want to look put together and be comfortable at the same time.  And you can pair it with literally anything – shorts, jeans, dress pants, pencil skirts, fluttery skirts, long skirts, short skirts… it is the perfect “basic” tee but with a little flair on the sleeves.

Floor Cushion

Jacob went on a three-day retreat last weekend, and the organization mentioned bringing along a pillow or cushion or blanket to sit on because they were going to be spending a lot of time sitting on the floor.  I honestly didn’t think Jacob would want one, but he was so impressed with this one when it arrived that he was actually really excited about it.  Haha.  It’s very compact and lightweight so he was able to put it in his small bag to carry around all weekend, and it’s made from memory foam, so it’s super cushioned even though it’s thin.  It also has grips on the bottom so it won’t slide around.  This thing is winning all around, y’all!  Comes in different colors, too.

Basic White Tees

Jacob had a dress up week for school last week, so we had to fashion all kinds of random costumes – a kite, a lion, and an I Love My Senior day – so I bought this pack of two basic white tees for him to use.  They are excellent quality, but they were super inexpensive, so it was no big deal that he wrote on one of them with Sharpie to use one time only.

The GOAT of Eyeliners

I’ve been using this eyeliner since college?  High school?  I can’t remember.  It’s soooo inexpensive, but it’s the absolute best that I’ve ever tried, and it was time for a refill, so I bought a couple to keep on hand.

Happy Tuesday, y’all!

  1. That was so incredibly kind of you to put that basket together for your neighbor! I believe it was providencial that he stopped you, so I love that you are going the extra mile for him. I'll be praying for him, too. I can't imagine living alone and facing a health scare like that.

You have such a kind heart and I think it speaks so much that he came to you and wanted you to pray for him. <3 I have no doubt that the care basket will mean so much to him, that is so thoughtful.

  5. Alec bought an electric tea kettle for his dorm/apartment earlier this spring so he used it at home all summer and even though I don't drink tea I loved having it around!
